CSPC: Imagine Dragons Popularity Analysis

Original Album Sales – Comments

2012 Night Visions – 5,170,000
2015 Smoke + Mirrors – 1,390,000
2017 Evolve – 1,400,000

Nearly 8 million albums sold after 3 albums. While it’s not record breaking, these numbers are definitely solid for this day and age. The highest pure seller from 2012 is Taylor Swift‘s Red at just 7 million, putting Night Visions not too far from the top albums.

The drop in sales with Smoke + Mirrors was kind of big but Evolve perfectly stopped the fall of their popularity. Since pure sales are less and less relevant, it’s needed to check their impact through remaining formats before painting conclusions though.

I’m a fan of this band, however I feel much of their music is starting to sound quite similar. They found a formula and seem to stick to it. I hope they can experiment… Read more »

agree they are getting to shouty esp on the choruses. But I love Night Visions as a whole album. Evolve is more of if to compare like Coldplays a head full of dreams, everything is too commercial. Then Origins is somehow still similar but a little better but people tend to be a little tired of them maybe? as it wasnt as noticed as evolve. we can say its a flop just lie their 2nd album was.
