IMAGINE DRAGONS CAREER CSPC RESULTS

So, after checking all the figures, how many overall equivalent album sales has each album by Imagine Dragons achieved? Well, at this point we hardly need to add up all of the figures defined in this article!

In the following table, all categories display figures that way, e.g. in equivalent album sales. For example, singles from Night Visions released in digital format sold the equivalent of 4,367,000 album albums – 29,110,000 downloads with a 10 to 1,5 weighting.

As a reminder:

  • Studio Album: sales of the original album
  • Other Releases: sales of compilations generated thanks to the album
  • Physical Singles: sales of physical singles from the album (ratio 3/10)
  • Download Singles: sales of digital singles from the album (ratio 1,5/10)
  • Streaming: equivalent album sales of all the album tracks (ratio 1/1500 for Audio stream and 1/11750 for Video stream)
Conclusions

A huge performer on pure sales, singles downloads and streaming, Night Visions closes on 13,37 million EAS from all formats. That puts it ahead of albums like Red by Taylor Swift, Take Me Home by One Direction and Born to Die by Lana Del Rey. It falls short of Bruno Mars‘ Unorthodox Jukebox by only half a million units for the top spot of the year 2012.

While nowhere near as strong, Smoke + Mirrors isn’t that weak after all. It is on its way to reach 4 million EAS which is highly respectable. Evolve is already a pair of millions higher and continues to climb very fast. At almost 6 million, Ed Sheeran‘s Divide and Taylor Swift‘s reputation are the only bigger albums from 2017.

Up to 24,72 million equivalent album sales to date, Imagine Dragons are much more than a one-album wonder. Their entire catalog continues to perform very well, they have ongoing hits and new songs coming, creating the perfect context to rocket their sales to much higher levels in the near future.

To go deeper…

Thanks to our new ASR (Artist Success Rating) concept, we know that their sales represent 14,44 million times the purchase of their discography. Coupled with her total sales, it translates into an ASR score of 107. They are just under the Foo Fighters.

Additionally, the following pages list their most successful songs as well as their records and achievements. Do not forget to check our amazing cross-artists lists posted inside the CSPC: Data Collector which includes the full listing of all CSPC results compiled so far.

Wow Night Visions competing with some of the biggest albums of the decade is shocking yet in hindsight i could see why as Imagine Dragons were all over the place when they debuted with this.

Thanks for this one! I’ve been looking forward to seeing how a newer rock era (Night visions) would compare to big ones from previous decades. I thought the total was going to be a little bit higher, not going to lie. But like you mentioned in the article, Night Visions is the second biggest album of 2012 so put that way, it really was a smash. I’m a fan of this band, however I feel much of their music is starting to sound quite similar. They found a formula and seem to stick to it. I hope they can experiment… Read more »

agree they are getting to shouty esp on the choruses. But I love Night Visions as a whole album. Evolve is more of if to compare like Coldplays a head full of dreams, everything is too commercial. Then Origins is somehow still similar but a little better but people tend to be a little tired of them maybe? as it wasnt as noticed as evolve. we can say its a flop just lie their 2nd album was.
