France Best Selling Albums Ever: Update Part 7 (20-1)
#1 – 155,000 UNITS
Kendji Girac – Kendji (2014) : 1,310,000
The only non-catalog album of this ranking, by the end of 2015 Kendji Girac debut album titled after its first name was up to 68 weeks without dropping below #18. Until September 2016, it remained around #10-20 positions, only slowing down a bit by the end of the year due to the heavy Christmas compilation. Now up to 123 weeks, the album has yet to drop out of the Top 100, being #27 this week. With a massive 155,000 units sold for the year, it gets awarded 135,000 additional copies from last year tally due to the large gap between retail sales and shipment by the end of 2015. No need to say this album registers the biggest gap in the best sellers ranking that will be posted very soon with all figures that have been updated since a couple of weeks.
During the next few days, new entries – due to 2016 sales or rules change – will be posted and then it will be followed by the posting of the complete ranking.
As usual, feel free to comment!
