I feel the need to correct the "by ifpi way" there. There are no "ifpi way", they never ruled anything on the matter. They simply print what labels provide to them, without verifying the data, and some labels used to provide Chinese sales, others never did.
Oh thnx for answering. I donthink if u can put in orphan. Then it will be better. Because it makes it look like a flop album for casual viewer.. when it is just limited sales ep which sold the right amount.
"Speak Now" her 5th album to reach 20 million units
only The Beatles and Queen have more albums +20 million cspc
Taylor achievement is amazing but I think if we separate best of hits albums from actual album, there will be more artists with five plus albums. That being said taylor all first 11 albums will reach there anyways. ! And future releases too. The consistent success in unparalleled since beatles
Cruel summer peak in France 52. Cruel summer just went diamond there. Which is opposite of that. I guess people streamed it after discovering week after week instead of becoming a mega smash fast.
Congrats taylor swift reaching 12 million copies considering most of its success has been local. I guess sold 10-11 million units in north america. With rerecording in 2025, it will reach 20 million in five six years and also get the global appreciation it deserves
Well if you exclude "other LPs" from album totals, a lot of artists will have studio albums fall under the 20m+ unit threshold. If you do that for The Beatles and count "best of" albums separate from studio sets, they fall from 11 albums to 7 albums that have crossed the mark. If you do the same for Queen they fall from 6 to 2. The redistribution of units from the greatest hits really push up the studio album units for a lot of older acts.
Yes, I agree. Removing "Other LPs" from overall EAS, will in most cases decrease the number of studio albums an artist has over 20m, not increase it. Even Swift goes from 5 to 3, doing this.
I love reading about all the records Taylor Swift continually achieves and I would like to help keep Taylor Swift's album sales data up to date on Chartmasters.
What resources do you use to research sales of Physical Singles, Physical Albums, Digital Songs, and other data?
1989 lover are two 20million sellers. It's fearless or red over 20 m with rerelease? I think fearless cross 20 million without rerelease?
Ttpd crossed four million pure units ( if not already ) with 360 k pure sales with anthology in this week in usa. And next year might reach diamond thanx to rumored double vinyl certification rule.
Also worldwide it will sell too. Really can see reaching five million pure in couple of years. Who would've thought after reputation and lover sales ( great but quite fall since 1989 ). Not to mention her great catalog pure sales. 100 million pure sales in four five years
Taylor was announced to today as the most streamed artist on Amazon Music and Apple Music in 2024, possesing the largest album on both this year as well.
Spotify wrapped tomorrow is basically assured to announce Taylor as their most streamed artist in 2024 with TTPD being the most streamed album this year as well.
Swift sold 20.09 million albums in the US this year. That's an all-time record. 20.09 for albums on the charts. A unique read. Swift also released a book, the Eras Tour Book, which sold 2 million copies, priced at $39.90. Taylor self wrote and published the book. This year also set a record for music in documentaries, theater performances, 261 million dollars. I would imagine Swift's EAS to be around 270 million.
Wait it was 15 million us sales few weeks back. When she reached 20 million? If it's true amazing. She beat her last year total
Taylor was can't be 270 million. Mnths back hdd had her at 220 million. And chartmasters number are near to her record label numbers. Maximum by label methodology, she is at 235 million which is already amazing. We don't need to inflate
