The fact people unironically thought she would never get a hit again is crazy and shows how delusional stans can be
It really does, the delusion she was heading for some kind of a massive was a bit comical.
It's way far down in the comments of this exact page, maybe 1-1.5 years ago?
Liar and either way, what matters is the bottom line, which I know you personally struggle with.
Taylor is 34 and is just having a breakthrough in Europe (except the UK) and Latin America. Yet her fans argue she achieved more than Jackson or The Beatles who dominated the whole world by this time.
It's clear who struggles with what.
Meh, comparing Thriller to Midnights paints a false narrative here. No one ever suggested that Midnights is more dominant than Thriller (lol). Taylor's peak isn't reflected by a singular album. What makes Taylor's peak so impressive and unique is the fact that her ENTIRE discography is being consumed at a practically unequaled level.
On 2023 year-end charts around the world, she had 8 different albums in the top 30 in the USA and Australia (including #1 and #2...), 7 in the top 30 in Canada, Belgium and the United Kingdom, 5 in the top 30 in Austria, etc. No one has ever came close to achieving this level of simultaneous domination with their entire catalogue. The 2024 year-end charts will likely be even more dominated by Taylor considering she has 2 more re-recordings coming up.
Taylor's force simply can't be reflected in a single project, thus when talking about her peak compared to an artist like MJ, it's unfair to limit the discussion to something so simplistic like Thriller vs Midnights.
With that being said, however, I do mostly agree that Michael Jackson's peak was bigger (partly due to the fact that the monoculture was much stronger in the 80s than it is today) but I still genuinely believe that in the long run, Taylor will surpass Michael's EAS and become the best-selling solo artist of all time. Her catalogue is too strong, and she is showing no signs of slowing down.
Taylor's new album "The Tortured Poets Department" will be released in April. Oh damn she's gonna surpass Madonna by end of this year
Lmao 2024 will beat 2023 as her biggest year but my frnd don't know her. Boomers here
I wonder if they go around asking their friends "Do you know who Taylor swift is? I'm arguing with a fan online about her "
No they don't know na. Numbers don't matter but their opinion does.🤭 In her 18th year, she is about to have her biggest year ever and biggest this century . They r in denial at this point.. especially some boomers here and new one is already outselling midnights lmao
