France Album Sales: Madonna
Rebel Heart (2015) Era
If Madonna differentiated herself from other popstars, it was in her rebounding skills, always going back up after most of her disappointing periods. Since a decade and the release of Confessions On A Dance Floor yet, times have been hard for the American icon and Rebel Heart wasn’t going to help.
The highest peaking single of the era, Ghosttown only made it to #34. Lead single Living For Love stopped its way at #50 while Bitch I’m Madonna performed even worse at #90.
What’s worse, even the dedicated fan base of the artist appeared to be crippled with only 17,000 units sold in its first week. The shortened 3-days week was of no excuse as the album dropped even in its first full week from #3 to #7 and then #18. Rebel Heart completed 2015 with just 50,000 units, almost 20 times less than her 2005 smash album.
