France Best Selling Albums Ever:
Update Part 6 (41-21)

#35 – 8,000

AC/DC – Back in Black (1980) : 1 075 000

After the big international release of 1979, here comes the big one of 1980. Back In Black is a catalog sales monster everywhere, easily destroying their other studio albums. Surprisingly, AC/DC case is close to the one of U2 in France. Just like the War vs Joshua Tree situation, their earlier, not-as-massive album elsewhere Highway To Hell is just as huge as Back In Black in France. It isn’t shown on this ranking as at 975,000 sales to date, Highway To Hell is not yet a million seller. Back to Back In Black, the album had a truly slow first semester, never charting inside the Top 100 Catalog Chart. It ultimately appeared at #95 in week 30, after which it secured as many as 18 appearances before the end of the year, peaking at #48.
