France Best Selling Albums Ever:
Update Part 6 (41-21)

#25 – 10,000

Pink Floyd – The Wall (1979) : 1 535 000

A few spots ahead of Wish You Were Here comes The Wall with 10,000 yearly sales. It started very slowly by its standards, never making it inside the Catalog Chart Top 100 during the first 33 weeks of the year. It was fitting into that ranking for 18 of the last 19 weeks of the year though, 7 of them fairly high inside the Top 35 – on six of those weeks including the Christmas week, it sold enough to be part of the Comprehensive Top 200. Catalog albums tend to be lower sellers during the holiday season as they are cheaper than standard albums and as such not valuable enough to be a Christmas present, but the numerous high-priced editions of Pink Floyd classics make them perfect gifts for teenagers starting to make a step into the music history.
