I find it funny and slightly ironic, that you mention her madness! Have you listened to yourself recently?
There really are so many problems in this post. Did you not hear all the news about her conservatorship last year? She was not in control of her career for 15 years so I really don't think any blame can be placed on her personally, Also, her last album only added 1 million units to her tally, which is absolutely nothing for an artist over 100M sales. So her releasing more music likely would not have had much effect.
I think it's worth pointing out that an artist of Britney's level of fame likely will never be forgotten. She's a major figure in pop culture regardless of how many other pop stars outsell her.
Also, her version of Tiny Dancer with Elton John is currently all over the radio worldwide which is a pretty big accomplishment for a duet between two older artists.
Yes. Thanks to Elton Johns’s old song remastered, Britney is still played on radio. That’s nothing. Britney has lost her last chance to make a big return in music. She could do it in all these years since she postponed her career. The music industry become a place similar to a jungle where the artists fights for supremacy and those who are producing more successful music will be the most remembered to posterity. Britney’s achievements started already to be minimized. Slowly all her accomplishments and influential claims starts to vanish from the most important references sources. The main music reference already has mention Beyoncé as the most influential, successful female artist of 00s . Really? Step by step Britney is cut out from the picture. Why? Because she has no fucking ambition. You see Britney is not Madonna or Beyoncé. She is a sick woman who needs psychiatric support, but unable to understand and accept her own mistakes and learn something about it. If it wasn’t for her father around , to kick her ass, she probably wouldn’t continued her career since 2008. So don’t tell me about Britney. I could hear the music of her peers played every day on radio, but her music I barely can hear it, because is not interesting anymore.
I loved and admired Britney for twenty-two years in a row. She was like a god to me. I defended her for years, months, days, nights against the haters who attacked her on social networks. To finally realize that it wasn't worth a moment. Britney destroyed her image since she had those crazy outings in public. Since then, the world has been left with a very bad impression of her. This is the truth! The general perception of people about her is that she is a failed celebrity who has completely compromised her career, even if it is not true. Britney made a spectacular comeback in music in 2008, but the world's image of her remained the one in which she was running after the paparazzi, barefoot and bald, drugged and drunk. You see, no one cared about her return anymore, more than about the scandals that appeared in the press. When Britney decided to stop releasing music, her impressive achievements began to disappear from important reference sources, being replaced by those of other artists. Billboard lists Beyonce as the most successful female artist of the 2000s. Likewise, Billboard lists Beyonce as the artist with the most iconic music behind Madonna and Michael Jackson. Britney fans claim that their favorite has the most iconic performances at the VMAs, but MTV credited Beyonce as the greatest performer alive, with the most iconic VMA performances. Since Britney Spears stopped producing music, she has been surpassed in record sales by female artists such as Taylor Swift and Adele, she has been surpassed in many other aspects that she will never regain. If you think Britney will ever make hit music again, she won't. Her music views on YouTube are poor, as is streaming on Spotify. Shakira's music, Pink's, Kelly Clarkson's, Nora Jones', Cold Play's, Eminem's music is much more played on the radio than her music is. If it wasn't for the Free Britney movement last year, she would probably have fallen into obscurity, more than likely. Britney doesn't like to do anything creative. She always waited to be pushed from behind by others. She is mentally ill and lacks ambition. Her pathetic behavior on Instagram disgusts me. For years I couldn't stand Beyonce because she copied Britney in many ways and used stolen art from other artists to boost her career. But now I don't blame her anymore, because she fought to become the queen of music. Beyonce didn't care about her father's control over her career when she was part of Destiny Child, she didn't make a circus and scandal like Britney when her husband cheated on her many times, controlling her life and career like a handler. Beyonce got over the drama with dignity and focused only on her career. The same thing was done by Madonna who did not care about the discredit received from the media or the failures in her marriage. Britney Spears is too weak and lacks ambition to regain the success she once had. Its fate is to go lower and lower.
I don't like Britney at all but you are forcing me to defend her lol. Here in America, her music is played on oldies radio all the time. Her peers are comparatively forgotten (except for Pink). Her tragic story has a huge part to do with that but it is what it is. She is still widely discussed and listened to by younger people. The fact that you don't seem to believe it doesn't change that.
US is not the entire world. Britney’s music is not played on radio stations from Europe, except rarely. Instead female artists as Pink, Shakira, Beyoncé , Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry are played often on radio stations. Nobody gives a shit about Britney’s music. She screwed her image so badly that people will remember only about shaving her hair.
Europe isn't the rest of the world either. She is still loved in South America, South and Southeast Asia and North America.
Yes, but Europe is more important than the other continents you have mentioned, behind US. As we know, Britney sold around 20 millions albums in Europe, she sold more than her peers, even more than Gaga, and yet her peers and Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rihanna are everyday played on radio stations from whole Europe. That’s a shame, because Britney doesn’t promote her music anymore.
She wasn't selling that much more albums in Europe than in South America and Asia (18 vs 13,5 million) and considering the growth of those markets, Asia and South America will be more important than Europe for her
Kelly Clarkson is "played often on European radio stations"? Really...
Actual facts : Britney gets 30 million Youtube views monthly from Europe, Pink gets 20m and Kelly 5m.
Yes, maybe Britney gets more views on YouTube than Pink ,from Europe, but in what concerns her music played on European radio stations she is far behind Pink. Even a flop like Katy Perry has more radio music runs, than Britney. But who’s fault is? Britney doesn’t promote her music on radio anymore. You think if the young tik toker are dancing on her music, that’s make her be unforgettable? There are hundreds of popular songs played on Tik tok...Britney is just a minor player, as it is on YouTube, Spotify and the other platforms.
Britney sold more albums in Europe than South America, even if Europe is a smaller and a further continent compared with South America,. Europe is more important and relevant as musical market and as music charter than South America. Britney’s. Music has dominated European charts for a while, on latest 90s and early 2000s but she screwed badly after 2007. Her music become played less and less on EU radio stations beginning with 2013. And in what concerns her streaming on digital platforms she is a minor player. Shakira and Beyoncé her peers are pushing much more numbers everyday. Britney’s top selling albums was strong before the beginning of digital era., after that her records sells dropped low to 80 millions in 15 years which is nothing. Taylor Swift has sold 260 millions records in a shorter period than Britney, the same did Rihanna. Britney’s fans tries to justify her failures saying that it happened because of transition from physical music to digital music , but that’s a bulshit. Britney was the most searched celebrity on the net of 2000s decade, but not for her music . So, Britney started to go down in 2007 in the moment she shaved her hair. In 2021 she regain a lot of support from people around the world, but once again she screwed up when she exposed herself on Instagram with a weird crazy behavior . This is Britney, you can gave her the entire world, she will continue to lose herself.
Yeah, you keep repeating your story again and again, but I just mentioned that, while Europe may have been a bigger market for her, in the future especially Asia will be more important to her and most global artists
Honestly, these types of posts aren't even relevant to what this website is about. It's about sales, as in numbers, not personal opinions of perceived success or failure.
Right, she's a "minor player" on Spotify with her 7.5 billion streams, as opposed to the legendary Kelly Clarkson and her 4.5b streams.
Comparing her with Katy Perry or Taylor Swift is even sillier, Britney peaked in 1999, not in 2012... A few of her contemporaries :
Céline Dion 3.7b
Destiny's Child 2.8b
Shania Twain 2b
Dido 1.8b
Spice Girls 1.6b
