If Demons was a sleeper hit by reaching its peak some 16 months after its initial release, Latch by British duo Disclosure, featuring Sam Smith, did even worse / better. The song peaked in August 2014 in the US after being released in the UK in October 2012.

One may say the delayed impact serves the song as the streaming market was much bigger by 2014. While this is true, plenty of catalog streams have been accumulated since 2015 to date by all those songs, with the streaming market which increased even more. If the track remains #4 up to now, it isn’t only thanks to its 2014 hits, but also thanks to enduring appeal since then.

It is also up to this amazing total of 575 million streams because it has two versions highly successful each on their own. The original version and the acoustic performance of Sam Smith. Whatever the reason, building such an immense total of streams without reaching the Top 5 in a relevant (it’s highest peak in the US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, Australia and Japan is #6) is incredible.
