The first song to crack 300 million streams on our list, the ranking of We Are Young is someway disappointing. The 4th top selling song of the year with 9,6 million units as per the IFPI, its popularity seems to be decreasing. By mid-2014, it was the 15th most streamed song to date from 2012, meaning 3 songs have come from behind to top it.

This takes nothing off of its success. The song was a #1 smash in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. We Are Young became the first song to sell more than 300,000 units for 7 weeks in a row, 6 of which saw it led the Billboard Hot 100. It was the 3rd best selling song of the year in the UK.
