How it works
This ranking is very straightforward, providing you with the list of most streamed tracks on Spotify. The page aims to list all tracks with over 500 million streams, do not hesitate to drop a comment if you notice a song that is missing.
If you are looking for a ranking which combines together all versions of a same song, the Most Streamed Songs page is available.
The most-streamed song of all time, through the years
Only 9 songs have been identified at some point as the most streamed track of all-time on Spotify, starting with Coldplay‘s Viva La Vida. Two of them, Human by The Killers (1,318) and Shape of You by Ed Sheeran (1,928) held the throne for over a thousand days. The latter is the only one with more than one leader, as Thinking Out Loud dominated the list during 2015.

Ever growing numbers
When we first introduced this page, hitting 500 million was still a major milestone. Not as big as previously of course, as in 2015 when Ed Sheeran‘s Thinking Out Loud became the very first to crack this number in October 11, 2015.
Barely a year later, on December 15, 2015, One Dance became the first billionaire ever. Shape Of You led for so long that it became both the first song to hit 2 billion (December 10, 2018) and 3 billion (December 22, 2021). On January 12, 2024, Blinding Lights passed 4 billion, now poised to reach 5 billion during 2025.
The density is now also very high. It will soon require 3 billion streams to be inside the top 20. The full top 100 claims over 2 billion streams. And while reaching a billion was the ultimate goal, even songs at the bottom of the top 1,000 won’t last long until they get there. As for tracks over 500 milion, this page reveals more than 2,500 entries, with new songs added virtually every day.
Record breakers
Fortnight by Taylor Swift ft. Post Malone posted the largest debut and 1-day score of all-time, with 25,204,472 filtered streams on April 19, 2024. Among non-debuts, the biggest scores are 23,701,697 for a Christmas song, inevitably from Mariah Carey‘s All I Want For Christmas Is You, and 18,424,325 for non-holiday material, a record secured by Miley Cyrus‘ Flowers a week into its run.
Flowers and Fortnight are also 1 and 2 among the most weekly streams, at 115,156,896 and 102,878,399 streams, respectively. They are the only songs to ever record weekly streams in 9 digits.
Longevity-wise, another woman rules, this time Tones and I with Dance Monkey. The 2019 smash ruled the Spotify daily chart for 120 days. Post Malone ft. 2 Savage hit Rockstar does better in the weekly chart, leading for 17 weeks.
