Streaming World: Back To 2012

2012 TOP 100 HITS – #13

Swedish House Mafia – Don’t You Worry Child – 362 573 000

One of the first viral sensations of Spotify, Swedish House Mafia obviously had the advantage of being Swedish, but their success crossed over boundaries with ease.

A #1 smash in the UK and Australia among others, the song is multi-Platinum in both countries but also in the US, Mexico, New-Zealand, Italy or Canada. In a more negative note Don’t You Worry Child was still the #9 most streamed hit from 2012 by late 2014. As the supergroup and his 3 DJs haven’t make the headlines lately, it is slowing down rather quickly at the moment.

Carly Rae Jepsen has actually had a couple of other hits since “Call me maybe”. “Good time”, with owl City, was a top 10 hit in various markets (US, UK, Japan, France, Belgium, Australia). “I really like you” was a european hit in 2015 (#3 in the UK, top 20 in The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Denmark). It also reached the top 20 in her native Canada and Japan. Well, that’s about it. 🙂
