Streaming World: Back To 2000

2000 TOP 100 HITS – #10

Disturbed – Down With The Sickness – 82 166 000

Chart peak in France, UK, Canada, Germany or Australia? It never charted. A US Hit only? Well, the song peaked at #104, outside the Billboard Hot 100. It is the album that sold well? It peaked at #29 in the US and #102 in the UK.

Down With The Sickness is one more perfect illustration that streaming pays justice to some widely loved tracks that weren’t always properly promoted and aired when they first came out. If you ever wonder how an album like The Sickness moved 4,5 million units in the US with such a low peak of #29, now you got the answer, thanks to the enduring and strong appeal of a track as big as this one. This continuous appeal also explains why the band since recorded five consecutive #1 albums in the US, quite simply because this hit keeps providing Disturbed new fans year after year.
