France Album Sales: Rihanna

Poorly received in various countries, Rated R opened with a decent #10 position during the competitive late November period and 11,118 sales adding digital sales. This is thanks to Russian Roulette, a rather weak lead single by Rihanna standards elsewhere but that was a #4 peaking / 12 weeks Top 10 success in France.
Both the single success and the increasing sales while approaching Christmas sent the album up to 63,000 copies sold in 2009 in spite of having only six weeks of sales.
In early 2010 second single Rude Boy was quickly sent to radios. A #8 single only in the physical Single Chart due to the late release, it was a big #2 hit in the Digital Chart. The song also sent the album back up to #13.
Third single was Te Amo, which officially never charted due to the absence of physical release. It was one more notable hit yet peaking at #8 in the Digital Chart during an extensive run. No more singles got promoted in France but the album was still able to register all its 48 first weeks inside the Top 75. Sales of the album in 2010 added for 81,000 units, a total of 144,000 since release.
