France Album Sales: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Stadium Arcadium (2006) Era

In 2006, along with Coldplay and U2 the Red Hot Chili Peppers were on the top of the game. In May, they released their first double album, Stadium Arcadium. The record shot to #1 pretty much everywhere and France was no exception where it debuted with nearly 39,000 copies, helped by the lead single Dani California.

Its run hasn’t been as good as its predecessors but songs like Tell Me Baby and Snow (Hey Oh) kept the album alive. It sold 172,000 copies during 2006 and 30,000 during 2007.

Surprisingly, even the release of Greatest Hits hasn’t kill completely their studio albums. In 2006, all their three 90s albums charted in the catalog chart. Californication was still selling over 10,000 units per year.
