France Album Sales: Eminem
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013) Era
In a France point of view, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was the first era that included digital sales on charts. If those sales have already been added to figures previously mentioned, they weren’t reflected on charts. With this situation fixed, lead single The Monster, a new Rihanna duet, became the very first #1 for Eminem. Three buzz singles got released prior the album, Berzerk peaked at #10, Survival at #19 and Rap God at #23.
Once again, the album era lasted only for the time of the first hit, but The Marshall Mathers LP 2 still did well. It first debuted at #2 behind new Florent Pagny album. If the album went out of the Top 10 after three weeks and the Top 20 after four weeks it wasn’t because it was bombing but barely because of the November release that massively increase the competition. This new record held a Top 25 placing until the end of the year selling 132,000 in seven weeks, more than each of its two predecessors. In 2014 the album was not hot anymore but still got featured inside charts regularly until the end of September adding 26,000 units to its tally.
