France Album Sales: AC/DC
High Voltage (1976) Era
With their popularity quickly increasing in their native Australia during the year 1975 thanks to back to back successes of their albums High Voltage and T.N.T, AC/DC gained a contract with music industry giants Atlantic. The deal concluded on a first international album, 1976 set High Voltage that included tracks from both previous albums, mostly T.N.T. tracks despite the package naming.
If this album hasn’t took world by storm charting pretty much nowhere upon release, it still was favorable in two ways. First, because it did create some underground following for the band, paving the way to following releases. Second, because it contained tracks that would ultimately get cult status like T.N.T. As an example, when the band released their last live set in 2012, this track was one of the six AC/DC songs to reenter France official Top 200 Single Chart.
