France Album Sales: AC/DC

Ballbreaker (1995) Era

With the general public being remembered the great past hits of AC/DC during the last few years, Ballbreaker was the band most anticipated album in over a decade.

Sticking inside the Top 5 for its first six weeks on the back of lead single Hard As A Rock, the record was a solid success. It failed the top spot only because of France all-time biggest seller D’Eux album by Celine Dion to which Ballbreaker was a runner up for two weeks. Charting for nearly five months, this album crossed the Platinum criteria of 300,000 units sold one year after its release in 1996 third quarter.

In 1997 fall, a 5 CD boxset Bonfire was released. Focusing on the band 1977-1980 years, this set sold some 20,000 copies upon release with a #56 peak.
