The TikTok phenomenon started in early february, about two months before the premiere of Bridgerton's 2nd season, which btw only includes "orchestral" versions of songs (it takes place in the 1810s...).
From what I saw, the "Material Girl" success was due to being on the stranger things soundtrack and going viral on tiktok in some trend or two. Frozen was 100% tiktok, the sickick remix.
Whoops. Crazy for You was at 96.6M only (98.0M as of today), I accidently included the song "Crazy".
Both songs are at 1.3 million, but MJ has 28 billion tiktok views and Madge is at 3.3 billion, so I'm not sure it matters. Videos featuring his songs have several unofficial versions and have contributed to his spotify popularity considerably since the app has taken off.

What? looooooool The parameters you've listed to bolster LIB's success are hilarious. BTW, the Thriller album had already sold 10 copies in the US alone by the time the single was released, and the single has been certified Diamond in the US.
Billie Jean was also huge, and continues to do ridiculous numbers. Was certified Diamond in the US just last summer, 1.3 billion streams, 1.3 billion views, 41 million EAS. Time doesn't suddenly stop.
I find this so facinating. Now I'm wondering if Russia's longterm adoration of MJ is because he so unabashedly incorporated classical and laced it into his 90s work in particular. They used to welcome him like a King upon arrival, and still maintain a shrine for him at the US embassy for 14 years now. Now I'm wondering if it's because of his numerous pop-classical moments lol
These remixes puzzles me. Take Frozen for example, should figures from these new Sickick remixes be added to the original and thus to the Ray of Light album, or should they be considered orphans?
The Fireboy DML remix and the 070 Shake remix are pretty far from the org.
Same thing with Blond:ish "Sorry".
How do we treat these remixes? Not just these Madonna songs of course, but in generel?
Why is GHV2 Argentina sales only 25,000 when it was certified 2x platinum for sales of 80,000 in October 2007?
I’m curious why GHV2 Remixed and the most recent Madame X album, singles and live concert album were left off? Not that they really would change much as they are not the big sellers of Madonna’s past but I wonder how the total would shift by adding these in along with the most recent collab songs that were put out. Overall though, great job on this! She is an incredible artist!
Are double version of madonnas songs (celebration, album versions) counted together in the streaming updates daily for her albums?

If you look to other artist's analysis there are just a few EAS songs lists extended up to 60. Most lists have 20 or sometimes even just 10. If you want to know a certain Madonna song's EAS then go to "Top Songs - EAS" and narrow to Madonna. There you'll find "This Used To Be My Playground" with 917,000 EAS, "You'll See" with 878,000 EAS and "I'll Remember" with 654,000 EAS.
