Streaming World: Back To 2012

2012 TOP 100 HITS – #2

Passenger – Let Her Go – 694 376 000

Let Her Go had it all. It was a big smash upon release going to #1 in Australia, Finland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and more. It came close to that in the UK and in the US too. It lasted several months inside the Top 10 of every country. It also amassed more than 60 weeks in France, Germany, Netherlands and Sweden just like Can’t Hold Us but also in Switzerland or Spain. It also made the Italian Year end Chart 3 years in a row.

Passenger never reproduced this success, but Let Her Go never went anywhere. It continues to increase its streams at fast pace with a gigantic lead of 110 million over the #3, in fact the song is now close to 700 million, a tally that would be massive even by 2017 standards. The bad luck for this song is that on so high waters it still misses the first place of this ranking by a mere 2 million streams…

  1. Born to die really is a streaming monster, she is one of the top 10 most streamed females on spotify!
i wonder how ultraviolence would do in a 2014 list

  2. Carly Rae Jepsen has actually had a couple of other hits since “Call me maybe”. “Good time”, with owl City, was a top 10 hit in various markets (US, UK, Japan, France, Belgium, Australia). “I really like you” was a european hit in 2015 (#3 in the UK, top 20 in The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Denmark). It also reached the top 20 in her native Canada and Japan. Well, that’s about it. 🙂
