Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse (2014) Era

After back to back failures, Mariah Carey tried to stop the downward spiral by working several years on her comeback album with some of the most hyped urban artists around, concluding this process with Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse release in May 2014.

Trying is necessary to succeed, but it is not always enough. This album ended up as one of the biggest flop of the music industry ever. In the US, it sold 2% of The Emancipation Of Mimi sales less than one decade later. In UK, it collapsed from the Top 100 after only two weeks. What about France? Well, the album started at #26 with 2,600 sales, tumbled all the way down to #96 by week 2 with 700 sales, by week 3 it disappeared from the Top 200 with less than 300 sales.

Once again a new hits package came out, #1 To Infinity in 2015. Now allowed to chart among the regular ranking, this set debuted at #132 before dropping out.
