While our main work remains on Deep Purple, with this article we are introducing what we will call 'Light CSPCs'.
The goal is to test a format that in backend is way faster to complete (an to update) in order to put new successful artists inside the all-time list and let the automatic calculations reflect how they are growing.
This will also enable us to get a more complete view of annual best selling albums in recent years.
While the format is much shorter, in terms of data nothing is missing really, the point is to apply it to new artists who released no compilations and such. The approach is relevant for the likes Harry Styles, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, etc.
The block below the green bar is the result of development/queries, so everyday there will be updated numbers.

Great article, this new-shorter format with pure single sales included in the same graphic as the streams is amazing.
Just a little correction, the text says "xiami streams" but the graphic says "QQ streams".
also i love the new format that adds Pure singles sales and streaming in one section but i think you forgot his Singles CSPC results tho
Her CSPC is very predictable anyways, no album standing above 8M CSPC or 3M pure & over 20M CSPC in features

I was more tempted by removing that section completely since for these artists the top CSPC tracks will be near identical to the top streaming+sales tracks. Anthony was favorable to keep a short songs' top, so this can be added easily if that's wanted 🙂

Hehe, I would say that Nicki is along with Sinatra and Lil Wayne the most obvious choices among my "top 10 nightmares", not even close to be easy 😉
It has been a pain for several years to estimate track downloads for prolific new artists as now certs include streams, so it requires to check pure sales charts week by week to build good estimates, for hundreds of songs. It's worst than 70s artists with dozens of albums to be honest.
Luckily, it is getting much easier now as you will soon be able to see!

I would say both are really borderline at the moment, they are close to have a discography too large to fit there!
