Let's face it, she's hardly an artist that is going to be prioritised for an update, given how relatively little she will have added in those 4 years. Her last album didn't exactly set the world on fire and her streaming numbers, while not exactly terrible are from amazing either.
Her Streaming numbers are quite similar to Britney's total, she had an update 3 years after her last album in 2019. Chartmasters have ads and are now charging for the spotify tool, they are making money, surely as a business you would have up to date (ish) data what is the point in having 4 year old data??? it's ridiculous and this isn't just for Christina.
Putting Mi Reflejo songs on an "orphan" album makes no sense at all. Mi Reflejo is Christina's second studio album. If you want to separate the Spanish versions of the songs from her debut album, ok. But there are original songs on Mi Reflejo, which deserve to be treated like the other songs on any standard album, not as an "orphan" album because they're not. Mi Reflejo exists, is a studio album, and deserves to be treated equally as the other standard albums.
Hey I have a question about her current streaming numbers. I used the spotify search tool and her current total is 4.92B streams, with features accounting for 1.37B of it. However on the "Most streamed artists ever on Spotify" list you have, her features are listed as 2.06B, and her total streams is 5.8B. Which is correct?
Also, the 90M version of "Say Something" appears on her search although she does not sing on that version so I believe that's an error.
Hi Kris!
If a song appears on her search it's because Spotify puts her among credited artists, so she is actually paid for that ^^
About her totals, the ones you search are correct, it seems Moves Like Jagger was duplicated on the last saved search, I removed the bogus data!
the only reason Britney was updated is because she reached the 100m milestone, something Christina will never reach
We need to be realistic here. This is a small business not a billion dollar organisations. They are not billboard or nielsen soundscan that have hundreds of if not thousands of employees that can update sales regularly, even Soundscan hasnt updated/published many of Aguilera's sales for decades. I dont know if u r a paying customer or not. But if u r, u can always stop making payment and find other services that satisfy your needs.
It's no use, if xtina released more albums, she would saturate even more and maybe arrive in 2006 selling even less, Britney had a magnetism, charisma and powerful clips and hits that made her last for a long 15 years, her argument is not valid.
tell the truth!
Britney and Xtina are far apart on spotify
from january to august 2021 Britney made 1 billion streams on spotify, Aguilera made 610kk with the help of powerful ft and considering that Britney hasn't released anything in 5 years!
the achievements as an artist on stage and in audiovisual productions influence sales, Xtina didn't deliver clips as good as Britney, didn't deliver iconic performances like Britney, wasn't even 1/3 charismatic like Britney, had no visual influence like Britney he had..
You need to update this, please!
At the end of the day, Christina's career is the career any artist would want: having almost complete artistic control while signed onto a mainstream record label.
Although this approach does not always favor sales, she could have retired after Back to Basics and been set for life and generations after, so I don't understand her detractors.
There were only two things that could've prevented her sudden decline in sales and popularity: either release Bionic earlier or continue building on the image that she created with Back to Basics. Bionic alienated old fans and radio began to favor the new acts at the time of its release, so there was little room for a new generation of fans to emerge. Bionic's flop really had little to do with the content itself, it was more so the timing and press.
I also think she could've utilized the markets more during her peak. If she had popped out albums year after year, she would've been close to 90-100M units in album sales, and not ~55M. For example, she could've released a 2.0 of her pop debut, a 2.0 of Stripped, or continued to release more Spanish albums instead. Nonetheless, I still think she can find success in other markets such as the Spanish market. Her last album even went #1 in Spain.
