Security rules from streaming platforms are very different. It depends if you need to log in, if the validity of an email is controlled, if your area is verified, etc. That's why you'll have a share of bots very different from YouTube to Spotify for example. In the latter, if you adopt a bot-like behavior, repeating a song every 30 seconds or so, your account will get detected and blocked. Other platforms don't care at all.
You can compare Genie and MelOn, for the same number of unique listeners, you'll typically have 50% more total streams on MelOn. It's no coincidence.
Also, as soon as a formula based on one platform, no matter if the said platform represents 0.01% of the market or 90%, reflects the numbers shown by the official chart provider (in this case Gaon), then it's fine. Adding a second one won't improve a thing, especially if as in this case it concludes on fake / inflated results.
Thank you MJD! I was trying to say why it's better to use Genie because it filters bot streams much better. I don't trust MelOn anymore, only sometimes.

How does 'As If It's Your Last' have 1.6B Streams in QQMusic? even adding all the "14 Music Video" I still wouldn't reach these numbers, how do you have access to the exact amount on the platform?

Why don't you add Apple Music & Pandora Streams? why don't they configure an API like they did in QQ, these platforms have many active users, the difference would be huge in the final result
Whenever I try to use this same formula for Twice for weighted physicals and streams, the number is always over 18M. I use available Gaon, Oricon, RIAJ for physicals, and Spotify, Genie, AWA and YouTube for audio and video streams.
They already explained genie numbers are consistent when extrapolated with gaon, there is no need to add melon. And they are definitely more misleading than genie nowadays, some songs have well over 100m streams there and no gaon certification
Never seen a worse record label than yg , who doesn't even give them one album every year. They sell albums like boy bands, globally only 2nd to BTS in name recognition. Huge stream stats. Each girl is marketable as hell. They also seem happy with this process tbh. But label is happy with them making coins from deals. At this point they can pull a worldwide arena ( stadiums in asia ) tour and beat all tour records. But their label is sleeping.
Doubt they are happy about it, just slave to their contracts until they can renegotiate. But yes yg are the worst, they got a girl group phenomenon comparable to spice girls back then and doing nothing with it, any label would be milking the hell out of this group
