100 million EAS for the Legendary Queen B. An update with the Act II release would be perfect.
Why did Renaissance go from 3.800.000M to 3.500.000? And when will this be updated with Cowboy Carter?
This article was published on July 19, 2022. Renaissance was released ten days later. Therefore, its pure sales couldn't have been included. Only streaming figures are updated daily.
Hi MusicLover!
Sorry for that, EAS for albums that weren't part of CSPCs (where we properly audited every platform) is always a bit messy, there are a lot of cases (with/without YT, Asian platforms, solo album or not, available Spotify data or not, etc), and many ways to calculate them (average streams/EAS ratio for the artist so far, streams/EAS ratio of the most recent album, or applying artist ratio directly). Thus, a single piece of data that misses in the database can impact conditions and redirect the calculation to a wrong method.
Anyway, this is fixed now. The same was true for more albums in this case (from CSPC artists, but uncovered by the time of the last update), and that got fixed as well! We will also be adding pure sales to these albums in upcoming days.
Renaissance crossed 4.1M EAS in the last CSPC update, will it return to that figure or?
To 3.9 million! Beyoncé is a bit of a mess in the sense that her last proper studio album to extrapolate streams is from 2011 (Beyonce was a special release, Lemonade a video album with heavy YT views, The Carters a one-off, a soundtrack, a live), so without really digging the numbers on all platforms for her recent albums it's difficult to know the best ratio to set up. Here, we are using the last album, The Lion Gift, which is itself a special release, but at least it's the closest we have in terms of market (and relative strength audio/video streams).
Sales figures have been added though, so it's still over 4m and will stay there 🙂
