The only artist who managed to break regular buyers boundaries to hit deeply the general public with her blockbuster album 21, Adele total of nearly 73 million after a mere three albums is mind blowing, even more taking into consideration her debut 19 wasn’t that big when first released. Giving how successful 25 has been, it is already safe that her fourth album will be granted a promotion going beyond standard music albums promotions, hitting general newspapers, TV programs all, which will provide her a minimum of one more massive seller.

Don’t get it wrong, for an artist who released so few songs Adele download singles sales are huge. So are her streaming results when one knows both 21 and 25 got a delayed release on those platforms to make room for album sales. Don’t get it wrong in the other side either though, her album sales are not as overwhelming dominant over anyone else as they seem to be. The fact 21 got into a blockbuster league that opened doors of non-regular buyers, who are still going through old standards by buying physical albums, artificially increases the gap in album sales category with Adele contemporary artists. To compare her popularity with her peers it is needed to do exactly what we are doing – weight everything appropriately to analysis overall results.
