From Eyes Wide Open to Emails I Can't Send, pure sales of Sabrina Carpenter were very modest. It had to be expected, with pure sales dying and coming from an older public, the teenage TV star had next to no chance to do well.
The latter managed to hold, and continues to do so, climbing its tally to a still modest 75,000 sales.
Short n' Sweet is a game changer. In a single week, it shifted 315,000 units globally. After such a start, it may go for a million during the upcoming months.

Physical singles
[wpdatatable id=27 var1=74KM79TiuVKeVCqs8QtB0B]
From her very first recordings in 2011 to 2022 included, Sabrina Carpenter never issued a physical single. This is a typical situation for an artist who debuted in the iTunes era.
As her fanbase started to build lately, recent hits did get vinyl and then also CD and cassette releases. Nonsense, Feather, Espresso, and Please Please Please combine for 38,000 sales in these formats.
Digital songs
[wpdatatable id=28 var1=74KM79TiuVKeVCqs8QtB0B]
The debut album had no less than 4 songs topping 100,000 sales in the US, and adding for over 650,000 global sales. Can't Blame a Girl for Trying was the top performer at 240,000. Also early in her career, she came close to 300,000 units with Take On the World, a duet with Rowan Blanchard, the theme song for their TV show Girl Meets World.
Thumbs from Evolution became her strongest seller to date, albeit with average numbers. It sold over 340,000 unit.
Why from Singular: Act I was the next one to sell in 6 digits. As her success increased, the market collapsed, so fairly bigger hits like Nonsense and Feather weren't able to do as well.
Despite these worsening market conditions, Espresso was just so big that it did go over 150,000 units, and continues to pull over 5,000 per week. Please Please Please is reaching 100,000 very soon too.
All in all, Sabrina Carpenter has sold 3 million downloads.

– Arabic world: Anghami streams
– Sub-Saharan Africa: Boomplay + Audiomack streams
– Elsewhere: Spotify streams * Spotify market shares based on artists' market distribution

– Elsewhere : Youtube views increased by 10% to account for various local platforms
*since Chinese streaming platforms are mostly video streaming platforms, their streams are weighted on par with YouTube streams.
Audio Stream value – 1,500 plays equal 1 album unit
Video Stream value – 6,750 views equal 1 album unit
Equivalent Albums Sales (EAS) = ( Spotify * ArtistRatio + Genie * 2.20 + AWA * 100 / 4 + Anghami + Boomplay + Audiomack ) / 1500 + ( QQ views* 50(or 5) + YouTube * 1.1 ) / 6750
Top hits
Nonsense, Feather and On My Way, an Alan Walker led track, slowly but surely gather sizable streams. Together, these songs have recorded 2.3 billion streams on Spotify and 1.8 billion views on YouTube.
The latter is far and away the leader on Asian platforms, and also on YouTube thanks to Asian fans, thanks to the legendary status of the Norwegian DJ in this region.
Still, Espresso has been so huge since its release only a few months ago that it took over the first place already. With 1.4 million EAS from streams, it's still climbing very fast.
Please Please Please will become its runner up soon, itself on 800,000 after less than three months. In just a week, Taste has made it to the top 20.
As we speak, although not for long, Emails I Can't Send remains the biggest album overall with over 3 million EAS.

Eyes Wide Open, Evolution, Singular: Act I and Singular: Act II manage to crack half a million units apiece, which reveals a moderate but stable success.
Up to date data reveal that Emails I Can't Send has been bigger than one can expect. It's past 3 million sales, thanks to heavy streaming numbers. Main single Nonsense is on its way to top 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Then, after only one week, plus pre-release units from its singles, Short n' Sweet has already sold more than her first four albums, and nearly as much as her biggest era so far Emails I Can't Send. Results are even wilder on pure sales, with Short n' Sweet topping her previous career to date total in its first frame.
Obviously, this is just a start especially as new single Taste is already smashing as hard as its predecessors. With at least three guaranteed hits, the album seems poised to become a 10-million seller in the long run.
This will increase significantly her career total. For now, Sabrina Carpenter stands at 11.3 million equivalent albums sold.

Short n' Sweet success is amazing.
why we cant see her daily streaming increase for the first 4 albums? can you also tell us how much the success of sweet n short increases the streams of her previous albums?
amazing work as ususal. i love every article in this site. cant wait for the beatles to be completed also.
Beatlemania is still alive and well because the article consistently refers to Please Please Please as Please Please Me.
Haha, indeed I've been reading Please Please Me literally thousands of times over the last weeks for their update! I told to myself before posting Sabrina that I should avoid this mistake, obviously that wasn't too successful! ^^'
Hi GUY!
The first 4 albums got added to the tracking today as the article was posted, so from tonight's daily update their daily/new total will get populated 🙂
As for the increase of her back catalogue right now, you can check the most streamed albums from 2022, there you will see that Emails I Can't Send is outdoing daily by about 4 to 1 remaining albums that have a similar release to date total!
This doesn't seem like it's affecting the actual EAS total, but the physical singles seem way off in the CSPC count. Like Singular Act II selling almost 3 million physical singles off.
It's very impressive how in the age of streaming era where most albums fail to have more than 1 hit she managed to have 3 big ones, the album sales and album tracks streams prove she's far from being a singles artists too. She has a very promising career ahead of her
"With 362,000 units on its opening week, Short n’ Sweet recorded the highest non-Taylor Swift female debut in the US since Adele‘s 30 in 2021."
Beyonce's Cowboy Carter album came out this year and debuted with over 400k units so this is just wrong. Glad Sabrina is being studied though, nice to see some big recent acts.
Thanks for pointing it out! Somehow I missed it, the sentence is fixed 🙂
She showed old school pop eras can succeed in modern streaming era. Third hit on way with potential of more and later deluxe. Also showed the strength of never giving up after first many albums didn't succeed. Her last album was slow burner and eras tour opened her to do many audience which she deserved. She is now A lister. Happy for her. With arena tour sold out. It is just beginning for her
Crazy this album is already on par with Ariana current album released in April by very first week. What a blockbuster. And it is near platinum in usa which means it has already sold two million outside usa. The definition of global. Emails I can't send is slow burner and even though it's single didn't chart high. They have became slow burners. True peak starts now
On ukmix people r fighting over that is sold 700k worldwide with people saying it sold 600k in debut week. Only admin can clarify
No problem MJD. Great job as always from the Chartmasters team. Can we get an idea of when the Beatles article will finally be released? I'm so excited to see all of their figures.
Hi SabrinaQueen!
These discussions are pointless as people fight over figures which combine apples and oranges. First, one has to establish a methodology, then start thinking about the numbers/results. For example, saying the album did 362k in the US and 90k in the UK, so 452k combined, is just wrong. One figure has every track equivalent units and all streams, the other artificially excludes streams and completely ignores TEA.
In the UK, the album registered 26.97 million streams on Spotify, but the OCC decided that only 22.04 million should be added to the count of the album. In truth, the units from SEA for the album should be about 36,800 rather than 30,100, then we need to add TEA although it doesn't add much with roughly 2,500 sales, so 250 album units. We are left with an album that did 97k in the UK rather than 90k.
In Germany, charts are based on gross, so albums can be #3 under their system but #1 under the same methodology as in the US (not saying it's the case this week). A lot of albums in the top 10 are always new entries by vinyl-heavy artists, in a units rather than gross charts they would be charting much lower. What we know is that the album got 7.2m streams on Spotify, which has a market share of 60% there. Doing the math, and dividing by 1,500, that's 8,000 equivalent album units. In both the UK and France the album sold more pure than in SEA, we can expect a similar situation in Germany, a pessimistic to optimistic range would be 15,000-25,000. I would go with the pessimistic one though as the poor performance of the album cuts suggest pure sales would be in the lower side of the range.
Then in Canada, it did slightly more than 10% than in the US on Spotify, which has a slightly larger share there, so SEA units would be similar, say 17,500-20,000. Pure sales are in an awful state there, about 2 times weaker than in the US (relatively speaking), so I would expect 7,500-10,000 for the album.
That's roughly 362 + 97 + 25 + 27.5 + 11 (France, re-adding units downweighted by their methodology) = 523k.
These countries represent 269k out of the 315k global total on pure sales from the article. That makes it 523 + 315 - 269 = 569k. SEA units outside of these countries are still missing, TEA would be negligeable anyway. These same countries registered 245k SEA units off 198 million streams on Spotify. The album got 148.5 million streams elsewhere. Using the same Spotify%, that's an additional 184k SEA units from them, which brings the total to 569 + 184 = 753k.
Of course, I spent hundreds of hours building the on-demand audio streaming platforms model, so I would suggest people to use the extrapolation factor that I use on CSPCs, as this one takes into account the streaming results of an artist in every area, and weights them according to Spotify share on these, making the results closer to the truth. It values streams for the 1st week on 403,000 units, which added to the pure sales and TEA adds for 720k. This is a bit lower than the 753k, telling that for an artist like Sabrina Carpenter streams from Spotify represents a larger share of total streams elsewhere than in the US/CA/UK/DE/FR, something that was expected.
