They are certainly doing better than Metallica in more recent days/weeks/months but I wouldn't quite class it as destroying them and it does seem like swings and roundabouts with these two, when looked at over longer periods of time.

Also, when AC/DC came to Spotify in June 2015, Metallica had around 400m streams, now they are around 1.1b ahead of DC.
So AC/DC's 37.7 million monthly listeners listen to few songs, while Metallica's 25.8 million listen to significantly more. It's hard to believe...
Yes, kind of like, AC/DC has more listeners but perhaps less fans, say people who just want to hear HTH, BIB, YSMANL, HV, Thunderstruck etc, whereas Metallica has less listeners but perhaps more fans, who want to hear their top tracks and a few album tracks. Also, a far greater majority of AC/DCs daily streams come from their top tracks than Metallicas. It's very clear that despite having less listeners, those listeners go deeper into Metallicas catalogue, more often, than people do with AC/DCs.
AC/DC
Daily Total: 8,215,000
Daily Top 5: 5,330,000 (65%)
Daily Top 10: 6,350,000 (77%)
Metallica
Daily Total: 6,976,000
Daily Top 5: 2,746,000 (39%)
Daily Top 10: 3,866,000 (55%)
Saying that, it is not a significant difference between the amount of songs each listener listens to. Just doing a very rough calculation:
AC/DC: 8,215,000 x 30 days = 246,450,000/37,700,000 = 6.5
Metallica: 6,976,000 x 30 days = 209,280,000/25,800,000 = 8.1
Also, Metallica have more tracks over 100m, 24 compared to AC/DCs 17, more tracks over 50m, 56 compared to 29 and more tracks over 10m, 117 compared to 83.
The same goes for Metallica compared to Green Day, Guns and Nirvana?????
What goes the same for them, compared to those acts? Could you be more specific, it could be all manner of things, from the above stats.
Then again, we were comparing those two acts, what does it matter that other acts have higher or lower stats?
If the same applies to these bands: more listened to singles, less the entire discography.
