Hi Love Story!

SIE7E+ came out in 2020, but it's a reissue of SIE7E which was released in 2019, hence why the album appears on that page.

Hi mic!

To display album streams, we need to save data for each individual track. The current lists of top albums (which keep growing) cover more than 24,000 songs, so that's more than 24,000 database entries a day. In concrete words, we need to delete frequently past data to avoid pages to slow down too much, so this functionality isn't possible to set up with the current system.

why would you add new songs to orphans and grammies and billboard are both considering taylor's album in 2021 so it doesn't make sense for you guys to ignore the effort she put in and not count those additional songs even if you want to label it in 2008 which I am pretty sure no one else did

They put it in 2008 for some reason even if it released this year… dumb but whatever

Dumb? How is it dumb? It's the same bloody tracks. It's essentially a covers album.

They didn’t ignore the songs. They are counted for her 2008 album in CSPC
And they are split on this chart because it’s impossible to combine two versions. But it’s placed in the correct year.

Yes, definitely. She's simply re-recorded the 19 tracks from the platinum edition of Fearless and added in a few additional tracks. There is quite simply no way, that it can be construed as an album of new material because it isn't.

If it wouldn't have new tracks I would agree. That's not not the case though.

its just the same as a deluxe edition that has extra tracks, except it’s just re-recorded as well

So a best of/greatest hits, that has say 3 or 4 new/unreleased tracks on it should be classed as a new studio album because of those 3 or 4 tracks?

I suggest you take off your Taylor tinted glasses and look at this objectively.

6 tracks. If it were just the same tracks I could see it putting it in the 2008 category but having 6 new tracks would earn it to be considered a 2021 release. I appreciate being considered biased because we disagree but whatever. Seems like we have to agree to disagree

Yes but 19 are the same. As obro said its like albums being remastered or expanded to multiple disc deluxe versions, that often have way over 6 tracks added to them that were not on the original release but they are still deemed the same albums.

I personally even disagree that it is counted as another, new #1 for her. The same happened with other albums like The Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street and to me it shouldn't have been viewed as another #1 for them.

It makes sense for Billboard to count it as a new #1. It's basically not the same album even if most tracks are the same. It would also make sense for it to be put in the 2008 and 2021 category but that's an opinion people certainly will disagree with

No because many re-released albums that are far more different than Taylors are thought of as the same album, even when they have way more added to them than what Fearless has added to it.

The Super Deluxe version of Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses, has 16 "new" tracks that did not appear on the original version.
The Super Deluxe version of Nevermind by Nirvana, has 19 "new" tracks that did not appear on the original version.

Neither of those albums are deemed as different or new albums and both have way more additional tracks added to them than Fearless.

You seem to be coming at this from a purely what best benefits Taylor perspective, whereas I'm coming at it from an, in general, what is logical perspective.

Seems like you have a disagreement with Billboard then. We might disagree whether or not is a new album but it is certainly a new release! I'm coming at this from the "same" album being different perspective. I couldn't care if Fearless (Taylor's Version) went or didn't go #1

Yes, I've disagreed and disliked a lot of their methodologies and reasoning, over the years.

Yes, nobody is saying it's not a new release/version but so were the deluxe versions of Appetite and Nevermind in 2011 and 2017 but we do not treat them as "new" albums from 2011 or 2017, we add them to the original releases from 1987 and 1991.

In this case, Fearless is more than a re-released album. They can think of those Deluxe albums as, "the same" but many don't! If you believe it to be the same album the more power to you.

It is, it's the same songs and it's still called Fearless. They are not new songs and it doesn't have a completely new title. The whole premise of it, is that it is Fearless, albeit re-recorded.

Take some Beatles albums, that were recorded in both Mono and Stereo, they have different mixes, sometimes with differing instrumentation etc, but we don't treat them as two separate different albums.

Or take some live albums, that have recreated whole studio albums, we don't class them as new studio albums either, we add the live versions to the original studio versions.

Are the songs on the the Platinum edition the same as the ones on Taylor's Version? Yes. Does Taylor's Version has new songs? Yes. Do you consider adding "(Taylor's Version)" to "Fearless" a change to the title? If so, then it's a different title!
