No doubt. His name and legacy are unbeatable. The fact that he hit this entire Earth before the internet era is just WOW. I can imagine what would happen if he first released Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory in this internet era with all his great MVs. YT, Spotify and other streaming platforms would have so much trouble LOL

Hi, MJD!
For legacy acts, you missed Madonna, which has 243k followers on QQ Music.

Madonna is ranked 141th on the overall list but our criteria for a legacy act is that they have no big hit songs released after about year 2000. She doesn't fit this criteria since she had several big hits during the last decade.

They have 248,000 followers as of now which isn't enough to be on any of the lists.

He is not that big of a deal to be honest. Sure he is a great singer. But i dont think he sold that much globally to be honest.

Hi Minie!

He didn't have enough followers for the top 100 when I wrote the article, right now he's sitting at 566,000 so he might be if I update it in the future.

You're in good luck! We're revamping the whole article soon. With some streams mentioned as well as some local artists too 🙂

Great result for Nightwish, mainly popular in there home country Finland and good sales in Germany, but China? Didn’t expect that. One of my favourite bands.

Since this article, Taylor has released 3 smash albums in China, plus a smash re-recording.

There is no way in hell, Walker is getting ahead of her.

Are you guys going to update the lists soon? Many artists gained a lot of followers since 2019

Bigbang are incredibly massive in china... they gained almost 1.4m followers since this article without new releases. Based on current growth the only artists that might eventually come close to them are Blackpink & Taylor Swift

Hi! Sorry where are these statistics coming from? What site are the followers being traced from and how do you know this is all traceable back to the Chinese audience?

Sad that TWICE isn't here because of Tzuyu's scandal. They'd most definitely be here otherwise.

Born this way was bigger than any Taylor album everywhere in Asia. Yes, cumulatively Taylor is bigger, but just pointing out its wrong to say gaga bombed after TFM.

I'm assuming you mean in pure sales? Because that is definitely not true on radio or streaming

Yes, during 2011 there was no streaming, just pure sales, so streaming is irrelevant here. During that time period, Born This Way was much bigger than Red (Taylor's album at the time) in terms of album sales.

Gaga didn't have competition at the time. She was ahead of everyone, but she bombed 2 years later, but was still successful in Japan. Artpop went platinum and reached no1.

Glad you clarified that you meant pure sales only and in 2011. Btw Taylor's album at the time was Speak Now.
