Yes, this is a display glitch as this is a technical line aimed to assign sales trends from compilations to studio albums. I fixed the database view to the data as before, so now they are hidden back.
Wait the article is updated and takes her total to 172.9 million. But without speak now tv physicals mentioned? So actual total is 174 million? You missed out bg mistake I guess?
I guess they will do it later because she is selling pure weeks after weeks. And sn tv must be around million too. So actual is above 174 million before 1989 tv

It has approx 730k from US pure and 197k from China, so yes probably around 1.1M total WW. We might get a quick pure update a bit after 1989TV as there should be sufficient pure to add. It helps that it wouldn't be too extensive of an update.

The new format enables both streams and pure sales from existing releases to be updated automatically, but obviously we can't guess future releases, that's why SNTV isn't listed.
That being said, and while Taylor isn't part of the planned updates, that new format also enables to easily add a sales figure in the background to update the totals, even if the screenshots remain as they are. We will test that to add both SN & 1989 TVs in upcoming weeks!
It is a great album! Probably in my top three. Personally I don't think she has had any drop off and quality of the content. All just depends on promotion, timing and on mass market appeal what she wasn't as focused on with folklore and evermore.
Lover has its biggest year in America in 2023 beating it's 2019 total. I guess globally too. As it will move five million units this year. In 2019, I think it moved around same. Crazy catalog seller. Gp loves this album.
It was reported at 5m in early 2020 but I think it included unweighted Chinese sales of like 1.5m, so its total during 2019 might've been just over 4m.
Even billboard is now saying ( along with other publications) that she has reached mj level of media coverage and fame.
Madonna has recently updated gwr with 400 million record sales ( adding single and album etc). I wonder will ifpi come with best selling woman title to Taylor when she gets it? I hope so. Because equivalents is the right way. They didn't even put Celine in top five! It is high time we get official list to go with chartmasters numbers.
