I don't play to pretend I am a future teller like some of you Taylor fans. Some of you think she's bigger than Madonna or MJ yet she's not even half way there.
The realistic way of looking at this is that while she's very successful right now, you don't know how her career will unfold in the future. Look what happened to Ed Sheeran, Adele.. Gaga went from a global star to a joke within 1 year.
Interesting list from Kworb, "Spotify top albums by least streamed track" so basically the most popular albums, Taylor has by far the most in the top 50 (6), followed by four artists with 3 albums (Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd and Post Malone) :

you are right though, we don't know what will happend, but she has built a strong fanbase that neither Ed nor Adele could have done, they will buy everythinng she put out even if the GP don't support it, like Lover back in 2019, plus she has popularized again the idea of listeing the whole full album and not just singles, that's why her album tracks pull such numbers, what gives her more units than a normal artist
Lover was and is pretty big among the GP. It’s only online where that apparently isn’t the case. It’s the third 2019 album with most weeks Top 10 and eligible for 5x platinum for a reason. I would say a better example of how her fanbase will support anything is Evermore.
Lover was considered a underperformance at the time. None of the singles went no1 and were horrible choices and songs. What saved the album was longetivity because the whole album is actually quite good. It's just that taylor messed up the single choices.
There’s nothing shocking about a Taylor album serving longevity. People who called it an “underperformance” after it debuted with nearly 900k units should have considered that.
Cultural impact or influence is somewhat abstract concept, but it can mean a lot.
It's said that Swift has her own course(s) at the university and they teach Taylorlogy (?) as a subject. This of course creates appreciation
and value for the songbook, as well as permanence. Commercial value will decrease quite quickly.
Yes she has plenty of university courses at multiple universities across the world like Stanford, NYU and Cambridge.
I would like to know what your predictions are now since she's became so much bigger since you commented this (30 days ago) lol.
You might have missed the like in there but for the record, those three are some of the most important universities in the world. There’s courses in some Asian universities as well but not at institutions as impactful as the three I mentioned
With the new midnights version coming this Friday, Midnights should blow past reputation's US pure sales. If I'm not mistake it would be the biggest pure seller in the US since 25. Midnights will see a super big jump when she is updated after Speak Now's release.
Also Midnights til the dawn will be purchasable on QQ music and presumably the other platforms in China as well! Should be a big boost from that as well.
