- 36.6B streams
- 22.4M album-equivalent units
- Midnights has surpassed 6M units (Chartmasters put it at 5.69M but the pure sales is not up to date so yeah the figure is on par with the Universal report once admin updated it)
That being said, her momentum is getting stronger and I believe 2022 is her most successful year throughout her career. With the Shake It Off lawsuit is no longer an issue so expect 1989 TV in 2023, and there's a lot of hints that we will be getting Speak Now too therefore, it's pretty obvious that she will surpass Babra and Whitney by end of 2023. And it's not delusional thinking that Taylor is a serious threat for Mariah and Celine too.
Tbh she only has 4 studio albums compared to Tay's 10 Studio Albums + 2 Re-recordings.
How do you update that? Isn't that something only an artist's record label could do? Or can anyone find out the updated sales numbers?
She looks pretty poised to pass Mariah within 2.5 years max if she doesn't release anything. I'm sure we will get at least 2 TVs and another studio album in that time tho.
but she has far outlasted Adele and created a gaping gap in overall units. There's really nobody this generation who comes close. One or two big albums do not = bigger artist, for example Come Away With Me is bigger than any Britney album but you would never say that Norah Jones is a bigger artist than Britney because of how dramatically her career collapsed. Flash forward to 2022 where 30 was sitting at #171 before stocking thousands of vinyls at her residency merch show...
Stacks of copies marked down virtually everywhere, I wonder if her next project will even pass 10m.
Lover is now at 10 million CSPC, so Taylor now has more 10m selling albums than Eminem in this millenium. That is consistency!
I give her 10, maybe 12 years tops before she passes Madonna. She is only getting bigger and bigger on streaming. All her albums are increasing at breakneck pace.
She'll get some pure sales yes but nowhere near the speed Taylor is increasing
Is it possible to see a rundown of Donna's career sales in the very far future?
