I'm from Asia and the gp don't even know about them except for having annoying fans LMAO They can't even name a song from them. They only know them as a manufactured boy group who are just good looking with zero talent. Only their fans know their music. You're embarrassing yourself. There's no need for an essay, bestie

Tbh I thought she was done for but wow, she's really proved me wrong. She may not have had a real hit in a very long time, but her selling power remains impressive across all formats: sales and streams. Good for her

You don't actually think she's currently bigger than BTS do you?

If you look through sales, BTS is currently bigger for sure. Longevity-wise, taylor will stay relevant for years. Ask a random person and they can name one TS song. Meanwhile, they only associate BTS for having good looking members and having teenage girls ogle over them

i definitely agree, boybands in general have crazy peaks but once they're over they fade away pretty badly. it's just that BTS' peak has been longer than most boybands.
once their hype dies and their fans move on it'll be pretty hard for them to amass sales. Taylor on the other hand not only is a cultural icon that has been around for 15 years she also has classic albums under her belt that'll keep her catalog sales alive for a very long time (1989, Fearless and Red and maybe even folklore)

+ you can't possibly believe that BTS organically sold 1.8m Digital units of Butter in USA in 2021, a song that barely anyone from the general public knows in the country. and Spotify's heavy filtering of the song's debut day streams from +20m to 11m shows how much that song has been mass streamed by their fandom.
they're the epitome of exploiting fans to the last pennie. it might amass them high sales at the moment, but again once those diehard fans move on it's gonna be really tough.

It's funny seeing her having no blockbuster era anymore yet she's the most streamed artist on Spotify daily. Taylor is rising super fast, she will pass Babra and Whitney for sure. She's pulling like 10M+ CSPC every year, and she still has remaining four rerecords to be released + not counting another new studio albums. She's definitely in Top 5 biggest female artist ever, and I'm not surprise if she can surpass Mariah and Celine too.

. lover , folklore are behind in streams because of lack of huge streaming hits .. lover singles performed badly and folklore didn’t had any conventional radio singles and its strength is in it tracks .. it’s already most streamed female album just based on tracks I would count it as success ..

She literally didn’t cared about hits during folklore eras .. neither they had any potential because of their non mainstream sound … since breaking up with BMR she’s doing what she wants and folklore still has 5 mn units in year or so which is incredible however you put or try to discredit her

How’s strong fd a bad thing ? Eminem has strong fd too so by ur point is he also inflated in success??? Lover has 1.8 mn pure sales acc to chartmasters and 7.0 mn units so around 5.2 mn from digital consumption.. she has strong fd isn’t a drag because her audience is still there because of consistent delivery in content and relating to audience just like Eminem ..

No one cares .. she’s getting hit albums over hits with good quality and that’s all that matters .. it speaks to her pull power however u may discredit her that she got 80 m by surprise dropping her album after lover which had no hits and now red tv which u pointed has 30 song lol .. it’s not a excuse for 2 hour long album to be listened in this manner .. besides it’s a re issue of older album too

The high filtering rate shows that it's just the fandom looping the same song. Their char success in the US is through bulk purchasing. Billboard's system is deeply flawed and their fandom is abusing these loopholes. If Billboard only counts 1 copy per version, they probably would never debut/reach #1 in the hot 100

That could be for a variety of reasons though. For one, her career is longer than hers which means her songs have had a longer time to penetrate the public consciousness. Plus, BTS's currently immensely high popularity is pretty new, around 2017/2018 if i had to guess, especially outside of Asian markets. So that might just be a factor of her being popular for longer.
