https://amprofon.com.mx/es/pages/certificaciones.php

I just randomly checked Mexican certification website and found out that 1989's pure sales was probably underestimated (admin estimated it at 60,000 but the album was certified as 3xP+1G or equivalent to 210,000). Reputation was estimated at 15,000 but it was certified as 1xP (60,000). At first, I thought it was SPS but then I realized the certification was based on 2009 threshold, which means it was most likely based on pure sales. It was November 2020 when they changed the certification threshold with the inclusion of streaming if I'm not mistaken. Nevertheless, the certification is based on shipment, not actual sales. Correct me if I'm wrong considering I might miss something with the certification update.

Hi Donchano!

Sadly, pure sales are completely dead in Latin America right now, and have been for quite some time. AMPROFON started adding streams (and they indeed represent the majority of 'sales'), since 2015 although due to their poor organization, they haven't communicate about it until much later.

That's why 1989 went from Gold (30,000 shipped) in Dec 2014 to 2xP+G (150,000) in Oct 2015 in spite of similar sales both years (#28 of the year in 2014, #20 in 2015 with a market collapsing from 12.1m to 8.8m units). Our year end charts to sales conversion tools suggest 25,400 sales in 2014 and 21,800 in 2015 in Mexico for this album.

Thanks, I just wondering since they didn't put any explanation regarding the certification prior to November 2020.

I didn't bring Madonna here. @Nevermind did at the start of you look right. I just defended her since I Stan for her.

Don't you Stan Taylor? Pretty hypocritical

Yet you guys quickly ganged up and started to hate on me when I said Taylor won't outsell Madonna which is a reasonable claim considering she is 150 million units ahead of Taylor and constantly increasing.

You guys believe Taylor is known by the gp everywhere based on her streams which is laughable, and everyone knows that.

You just can't stand other people's opinions, which fits your fanbase because Taylor Swift is the same and hates everyone who disagrees with her

I checked Nevermind's post and he never mentioned Madonna's name in his original post. You were the first people who brought her here. I don't know why you accusing me for being hypocrite, I don't go to other artists page and start attacking people there. People here defend Taylor based on facts, numbers, stats meanwhile you basically based on your wishful thinking (hoping Taylor will flop although the current stat suggesting the opposite).

Why are you now spreading lies to make yourself look better?

Nowhere does @Nevermind mention Madonna in their original post, to which you commented on and brought up Madonna.
That user only mentioned Barbra, Whitney, Mariah and Celine.

"You said that Taylor could possibly get with in reach of Barbara’s and Whitney’s CSPC totals. Well would I be delusional for thinking she could possibly come near Mariah’s or even Celine’s CSPSC totals in the long run? Or is it completely out of the question?"

Where does it mention Madonna here?

How sad that you're now contradicting your very own words.

No one ganged up on you or started to hate on you.

You yourself brought up Madonna in a conversation where she wasn't a topic, and then people rightfully pointed out to you with data and facts that Taylor's success is so strong that, yes, she has a chance at surpassing even Madonna's CSPC units, a prospect that MJD himself acknowledged in his own post.

If you think you know better than the owner of Chartmasters and think that people hate on you for simply pointing out the objective possibility of Taylor achieving higher CSPC units, then I don't know what to tell you.

I never attacked anyone, before you guys attacked me.

And I never said I hope she will flop. That's you twisting my words, I simply said I don't think she will outsell Madonna.

Oops, I misread the post, I thought he included Madonna in there, my bad, but my point still stands.

He also said we don't know how she will sell in the future and she needs a hit to keep her catalogue alive. You just nitpick points.

We can have this discussion about surpassing Madonna in 20 years.

don't think it'll take too long, MJD is currently busy with adding new artists to the All Time List once he decides to do a round of updates I'm pretty sure Taylor will be the first or second to get one

but if you're interested these are my personal estimations of her up to date Pure Sales of her latest releases

Lover 2,000,000
folklore 2,050,000
evermore 1,140,000
Fearless (Taylor's Version) 650,000

Red (Taylor's Version) 1,230,000

the first 4 albums don't include chinese DLs while Red (TV) does since MJD said the Chinese DLs will be counted as 1:1 after the rule change

So red is literally approaching 18M. That’s a stunning figure

They are not counted as pure sales for the original 2012 album, but they will be included in the "other LPs" section and thus will count for its overall units (like it was the case with Fearless Taylor's Version), so what user @katy-hudson said is correct.

Red TVs pure sales will push Red closer to 18M units.

they will be coubted towards Red in the "Other LPs" section just like Fearless tv is counted for Fearless in the last update.

There is no way she has brought over 300k pure sales outside of the US. Its just impossible. Her albums sell very little outside of the US. They probably sold closer to 100k outside of the US and minus China.

Every artists albums are mainly carried by singles, that's the point, they pick which songs to be singles. His album tracks are the exact same as well as every other artists albums including taylors so no point in saying his tracks are 'doing so badly' when they're doing the same as anyone else's album tracks. Changes as an album didn't do too well anyway and his others were released way before the streaming era, however Justice tracks are doing good.

i just wanted to ask if lover's success is considered way out of mold in contemporary industry with not a single lead which had further grown and become a hit but if anything ME! or yntcd flopped so so hard ... like album is pushing 8 million EAS by this year and without its leads carrying it .. which is not good yes but i am just surprised ... especially with folklore pushing 6 million ...i had almost thought that lover or folklore won't even cross 5 million in long long time but i was wrong lol
