I totally understand. Although, in these times, when people talk about "sold units" they're more likely referring to "sps/sales plus streaming" units
Again, it's about being clearer, something that this industry has never been good at. Sold units still means sold, IMO the word sold needs to be removed as it is obviously not the correct word, it should be units consumed or something.
I'm kind of confused, i'm on the QQMusic app but i don't understand how to know if a song is available for audio streaming or not. Look What You Made Me Do has more views than Blank Space yet it has more streams here because it was multiplied for 50 and LWYMMD for 5.
That's very reasonable. But I'd say it's kinda weird to put Taylor's recent albums where she has went past her prime years ago. While BTS' recent albums are basically their career's climax. Taylor's climax was in between Fearless to 1989 era which were albums not included in your list
lol are u kidding me? The Beatles has claimed over 600 million sales and with streaming their sales will only increase lol BTS can't even sell 50 million lol
Great analysis!
Do you think that lover could pass Reputation in the long run?
Another question- do you include all the remixes versions in the daily streams update?
Her consistebcy is really beyond with the daily streams show this. She doesnt have hit song, but a full catalogue
Thank you anyway, i love this website.
i think with reputation (taylor’s version) being released at some point it will stay ahead of lover, but i feel like debut, speak now, reputation and lover and maybe even folklore are all going to have very similar numbers in the long, with fearless and 1989 being her standout, evermore will probably be quite a bit lower, which is a shame because it’s one of her best
1989 will be the ultimate standout, Red and Fearless will be huge followers while Self Titled-Speak Now- reputation- Lover - folklore will all be +10M in CSPC, i think evermore will fail reaching that 10m mark but it'll still have big final total (something around 7m or so)
But let's take Japan which is the 2nd biggest music industry to date. To get a diamond certified album you'll need 1,000,000 units. The U.S however, certifies albums above 10,000,000 units as a Diamond Album. That's a huge difference.
Yes, that is a big difference and I'm not saying anyone will catch up with the Beatles soon, but the markets in Asia might explode in the next few decades that we can't possibly predict
why are Wildest Dreams Taylor's Version Streams not included in Today's 1989's Streams update?
I think because it was a rerecording. It's not part of the actual stolen 1989.
It’ll definitely be included when 1989tv gets released, by then Taylor will probably have got a new update next year.
Its quite difficult to add the prerelease songs one by one for all artists I think.
Do you think Taylor can yet get another 10 million units seller after evermore? Seeing its number and her increasing shift to more non-mainstream sounds if its continued i think it’ll be hard if not impossible…
Na her peak is gone. Her massive fd is keeping her float
But gp dont listen to her stuff anymore. She can do mass buying tricks but none of her streaming era four albums has even done 4 billion streams. Her catalog will keep her float
Not new releases
depends on the sound of the album and what she choses as singles for it, the potential is there in my opinion if she pulls the right strings
Wow.. lol I don’t know how you inferred that … I don’t think any fandom is massive enough to give her 100-120M+ streams weekly … neither a fandom can give you 80 m on first day for one and 60 m for other cuz fandom are consistent consumers … bts currently has biggest fandom and they are not doing those weekly or re-current streams… crossing 4 billion isn’t a definition of gp support or being less fan support.. it all depends on hits that give you massive streams… folklore for example has 1.9 billion streams without its single Cardigan… tho some have even higher but it means her album are being listened more evenly
taylor really managed to score 122.9m streams in a single day, y’all better hold your wigs when 1989 tv and ts10 are released
taylor is far from being over 👹👹
The amount of releases she had in streaming era, not a single album is blockbuster in streaming. 24 songs. Expected debut.
Red TV and Folklore were streaming blockbusters if you look at how many streaming records they broke.
But I know what you mean, her albums don't do well on streaming long term wise unfortunately.
