Absolutely nobody believes this to be true. Taylor is moving 40m album units a year, Billie is having a successful era on Spotify with massive assistance from Spotify’s autoplay feature. Two very different leagues.
Of course Billie Eillish is bigger than that, but indeed not really close to Swift. Though actually she's closer than any artist the last 2 years, which says a lot about the 2 artists
So some editor here for his comments backfired and now deleting all replies because he can't digest realty. Touring to over million people in his country. Mainstream media going crazy. Shattering records. But he can have his grannies carta and neighbours not knowing Taylor to pat his fragile ego
Hi Adyspeakstruth!
I am the one who deleted your replies, simply because they were disrespectful - on top of being incredibly boring. This place is not for childish fights. Just comment on Taylor Swift's results. As soon as you get into replying each and everyone to "defend" your fave, spamming the messages like crazy, your posts are not welcome. You and Martin already made this conversation mostly unreadable for everyone, just accept to agree to disagree.
Billie has 3 albums plus an EP. You really think it's fair to compare their yearly units?
You need to look by specific eras.
Billie has just released a 10 track album and she is beating Taylor on most charts WW. Her album is no1 over TTPT in many countries.
Taylor is currently bigger, but Billie is very close to her in many parts of the world like Europe and Latin America where her album has a much higher average streams per track.
Taylor only has a clear lead in Asia, UK and USA.
More like you're looking at specific metrics to try and form some sort of argument to discredit Taylor as some weird coping mechanism shtick. Once you look at what matters, the big picture, there's a 160M CSPC gap between both of them and Taylor isn't slowing down anytime soon. In fact, she's going to gain nearly Billie Eillish total units two years in a row. So no, she's not nearly as big and stop setting her up. You don't care for Billie Eilish who, yes, is indeed very successful and has great music.
It's always the same group of people, every single taylor release, who hold on to dear life to another very popular female artist and then drop her once she's not able to keep up with Taylor Mania. We saw it with Ariana, Adele, Olivia, SZA and now I suppose it is Billie's turn.
Why didn't u delete Martins comments ? Why my only? Didn't he start all this that my dogs and neighbour don't know her so it is not universal as fact? When he got corrected with stats he retorted to attacking too. If u were unbiased. U could've done it both ways!
Why don't u compare Taylor pure sales and download sales with Billie then? Why only streaming which clearly favours streaming era artists like Billie over Taylor who debuted at start of download era. Taylor being artist of 2000s. Its amazing she is most streamed women artist ever. She is around 70 ( 80 million plus bcoz ifpi count Chinese sales as pure ) million pure sales ( 100 million pure one day ) and 180 million downloads. Is Billie eilish even in discussion there? Nope. Now don't cry the disadvantages..same way Taylor was at disadvantage and still smashed streaming era records. So if u gonna play the game, play it fair. Billie has long way to go to match Taylor's longevity and success.
Asia is bigger than Europe and many markets r overtaking Europe. And it is future of music consumption ( present already ). Taylor has countless albums and catalog in year end charts of Europe. Your point? Taylor first ten tracks of trpd done amazing too. Her album released after a.month of ttpd. Ofc it gonna chart higher sherlock. It's funny you ignore pure sales and download success of Taylor and take her streaming era stats which are wonderful by the way.
Ttpd's sales over 8 million worldwide by now in less than two months. What is pure worldwide sales? 3.5 million? One million outside usa
Taylor is a bigger streaming artist than Billie Eillish. Longevity or time in the industry is irrelevant here.
Streaming is most important music consumption now. That's why I compare them in streaming. Asia will never be more important than Europe when majority of most important music markets are in Europe in terms of revenue.
One month is not a lot. Taylor is portrayed by her fans as MJ level but her success in terms of he music is not on par with MJ. MJ wasn't losing to newer artists on charts back when Thriller was released.
And this is with her tour. Imagine if Taylor stopped touring Europe. The album would fall into oblivion on charts.
You ignore that Taylor deputed 11 years before Billie and released 8 more albums. OF COURSE she will gain more units.
You ignore my points about their present success on charts and go off topic because you know I am right.
There is no mania with Taylor. She's just very successful with a very successful tour. Many women experienced her success like Adele, Whitney and Madonna. Taylor has her record setting tour, while the women I mentioned didn't, but they had huge ww hits at their peak as well as massive albums which Taylor can't do.
MJ's Thriller happened in an era where the entire music industry was controlled by five men employed by Sony Music. Things are a bit different now.
"Asia will never be more important than Europe when majority of most important music markets are in Europe in terms of revenue."
Thankfully, Taylor is the richest female musician (From music) in history. Don't worry too much about her revenue!
Anyways, you're making a lot of baseless claims and a lot of imagine if statements which basically sums it all up. Taylor is slaying and you're fuming. Cry about it weirdo
Reputation moved more units than Don't Smile At Me, Lover moved more units than When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, Folklore moved more units than Happier Than Ever and TTPD will end up with move more units than Hit Me Hard and Soft.
To further destroy whatever delusion you're spewing, Taylor Mania is a thing in real life and Taylor Swift is one of the biggest hit makers in history. with massive albums on top of a single tour bigger than Adele, Whitney and Madonna's entire touring careers.
