I never said Robbie Williams is the greatest pop artist of the last 25 years, I answered that way because the editor replied with a capital NO, and then even if it was I don't see the weird thing about it, Kylie Minogue, Anastacia, James Blunt, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Gwen Stefani Christina Aguilera I don't think they were superior to RW in global sales, but also rhythm and blues or soul artists like Usher, Alicia keys sure weren't superior to him, it seems that I said the greatest pop artist of the last 25 years is Craig David 😂 for sure there are some pop artists who probably did more than him like Lady Gaga or Ed Sheeran or Britney Spears but I can't find others
Jordan,
Martin answered "No." rather than "NO", which doesn't sound the same at all obviously.
If we were to make a list and looking at total sales, you would need to put the Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Adele, Taylor Swift, BTS, and P!nk ahead of him on top of the 3 you listed. One can debate whether we consider Coldplay pop or not. Were both artists Robbie and Bruno Mars updated right now, chances are that the latter would be ahead too, which would put Robbie as the 12th biggest of the last 25 years.
perhaps I misunderstood, I wasn't talking about total sales it seemed clear to me, I was talking about global success, since we now know that the United States is not the essence of the whole world and neither is Japan the essence of all of Asia we can see that RW has made success in any corner of the world, and if we now turn a blind eye and see at least once the global success and not the total because there are artists like Adele who has averaged 25 million sales for each albums that are three and has sold a total of at least 100 million copies certainly deserves more than an artist who has sold 150 million with 20 albums.
So in my opinion total sales don't matter much, and I really don't think that if let's take RW's top three best-selling albums and compare them to the top three best-selling albums of the artists you listed, you'll change your mind, but not only the albums but also the streams around the globe, obviously if we talk about total sales you have complete You are right that RW would rank below the artists you listed.
However regarding Martin's curt answer it was the translator who put me NO
hey jazz, Robbie Williams is huge but really so huge in Latin America, North America, Central America, South Africa, Europe and Oceania, Asia and North Africa medium to high success 😂😅
Could Robbie be one of this year's updates? his sales and streaming of singles are increasing visibly and his popularity in the US seems to be on the right track, could this be a potential update?
How do you determine that his popularity in the US is supposedly increasing? And by the way, there are so many artists which haven't been analyzed yet. I think that should be a priority before updating artists where groundbreaking changes are not taking place in between (as in RW's case).
