Come to 2024. Billboard ifpi use album equivalent to determine best selling artist and it shows relevancy of artist. Mariah gonna outsells Celine in total equivalents and that is what will matter more. New gen don't care about pure sales and it's streams who devide who r best sellers. Stay stuck in past.. Mariah non Christmas music also outstreams Celine. Streams is relevance. Not sales now. Welcome to real world

Carey still has very pure sales in Asia. Taiwan's official chart G-music shows that Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston sell well all the time. Japan's official cdJapan shows that Carey is the best selling female artist after Swift. The sales of foreign artists have been weaker for a long time, but you have to remember that Japan is number 2 after the USA in terms of sales and almost 70% is physical.

she has 153m pure albums sold, add mtv unplugged to her sales, and also sales by each country and continent, you did this in the 2017 update but not now. It will look like her sales haven't grown at all since that time. riaa counts mtv as an album

From what I understood after reading a few of these articles, compilation sales (physical and digital) are added onto the original album where the song stems for.
