It depends. The Fame Monster is a reissue of The Fame, but with extra songs. If that's the case with the Kesha albums, I guess it can be considered as a single era
What's your problem with Lady Gaga? Miley Cyrus released a new album a few weeks ago and you already updated her page, while Gaga released Chromatica six months ago and there's nothing here... You guys should update everything: Joanne, ASIB, Chromatica...
Hi F.F.!
Don't you think your approach is kinda childish? It's simply not possible to get all artists releasing new albums updated all year long, that would require too much time. Gaga has been updated multiple times, with her article already using the new template. Miley's CSPC was over 3 years ago, with the old format and with data that has been refined since then.
By the end, we already communicated the list of upcoming updates on twitter in recent months and Gaga is among them. At times a lil' patience is just fine 😉
I understand, and I'm sorry. Can't wait to see the updates. Also: could you please make a page about Beyonce albums and songs sales - when it's possible? I didn't find it. Thank you.
When do you think her update is coming please? I'm refreshing the website every day lol.
Chromatica is around 1.6 million, depending is she is planning to release the fourth single can be more but still not 2 million.
A Star is Born already surpassed the 3 million mark.
The only singles she had were Stupid Love and Rain on Me. 911 wasn't sent to radios in the U.S
Thank you so much for the update !! But did you forget Rain On Me for her singles CSPC results ?
Hey Mj,
How do you see Gaga's career going from now on? Like you mentioned, Chromatica had very mixed reviews and did good in the end, but did not add any hype to her name. Will this hurt her significantly or do you believe she will be able to bounce back quickly?
Hi Jeanne!
Rain On Me is a bit under 900k EAS at the moment, but may probably reach Gaga's top tracks soon 🙂
Are u joking or sumn? Lmfao! Chromatica is literally Gaga's most acclaimed album on Metacritic, AOTY and any other site that aggregate reviews from critics, it had no "mixed reviews" at all, also, Chromatica only had 2 official singles and only one performance throughout the era, the album was a success, no matter how you look at it.
"We heard about the superstar a lot in 2020 too thanks to songs like Stupid Girl and Rain On Me." Her song is called Stupid Love.
Also, oldbloke on Ukmix's totals for YTD pure sales (not shipments) for Chromatica in USA is 322k (for Week 49 2020), which aligns with the ~825k SPS there. This figure would make your US shipment number for Chromatica of 330k too low...
Hi Ryan!
I hate this song title, I now always think "Stupid Love" with P!nk and Stupid Girls with Gaga 😉 it's fixed!
About shipments, it was at 319k when I built sales figures some days back and I already hesitated between 330k and 335k, it should be on the latter by now. The gap is still small but there are less and less sales happening at retail nowadays due to download sales and B2B collectors.
Hi Z221!
Mixed refers to commercial success. It was off a great start, she built hype upon release with Rain On Me and Sour Candy collabs doing a lot of noise, but the album failed to remain a force as months passed. The final total of 2.25m with 2.3m doing streams on Spotify now is so-so. I do consider Gaga as a top artist, the type of singers who sells 5m+ with an era which fully connects with the general public, as ASIB did, so Chromatica fells short there.
In the other side, the way she still sells a lot of preorders and is able to crush Spotify upon release shows she remains a current star, she is not the singer who used to be big but fails to hit 1m CSPC when all is said and done. So she is still strongly popular, it's just that Chromatica's singles failed to truly cross over.
I think Chromatica will do better if she starts promoting the album and she's probably releasing the 3rd single...
Can anyone explain me what is the difference between "Studio Album" and "Physical" or "Download'"?
studio album is the physical sales of the album, “physical” is sales of physical singles released, “download” is downloaded songs from the album. In the final table these are all shown in there weighted value in the cspc method. for example 10 physical single sales = 3 album equivalent sales.
hope that makes sense
I think Gaga was also hampered by her release date--not only was everything paralyzed due to COVID, which meant no live performances (she's always been a performance-first artist whose promo always had a big effect on singles), but the George Floyd riots also started literally on the day Chromatica was released so all the media attention was elsewhere and a big gay dance-pop song wasn't exactly most people's mood. Rain On Me was still a bona fide smash in key markets like the UK and Canada though.
there's like a thousand people 2 do, and u guys are doing lady gaga again lol
