Twice would have a nice score, but it wouldn't be that much greater than their total physical sales (which is huge), since their streaming is abysmal.
As I said, we never even said that TWICE would be above BP. It seems as if you're a twice anti.
Don't underestimate their streaming results. They're one of the best K-pop acts streaming wise.
I havent looked deep into it but I think the difference between Bp and Twice is not that big mainly due to them having like 3x the amount of releases and their biggest hits happening when downloads were still a thing in korea. I suspect both are closer than we think (and snsd too) but Blackpink will eventually have a huge lead over both considering their massive album sales and spotify numbers lately
Hi! You can use both MelOn and Genie streaming figures, MelOn (South Korea's biggest online music provider) started disclosing song streaming figures starting from December last year.
MelOn and Genie streams vary so much, and I think it may be a nice addition to the criteria 🙂 This is BLACKPINK's overall and individual stream figures on MelOn: https://xn--o39an51b2re.com/melon/artiststream/995169
If you want to see other artists as well, try this website: guyso.me (its in Korean so you may need to turn on google translate)
TWICE from debut until 2018, their songs have sold well, with all of their singles from debut to Yes or Yes surpassing more than 2.5m digital downloads in Korea and 100m streams on Gaon
Also may I ask why Whistle - DDU-DU DDU-DU download figures are so low? They have five songs that surpassed more than 2,500,000 digital downloads in Korea (Whistle, Playing With Fire, AIIYL, D4, Forever Young).. Are they not included? or maybe discounted?
Hi Ludaluda!
This has already been answered, downloads are only eligible up to the end of 2017 since the downloads aren't real downloads after that. We already discussed the MelOn figures too, and we purposedly ignore them as many older tracks have ridiculously inflated numbers due to bots. Genie numbers are cleaner.
How can you count twice for colaboration song it will double count ...like ice cream BP colab selena gomez and many other colab song ...you must count with devide with ratio part of each singer
Signal and Merry and Happy didn't receive either, so that's not entirely accurate.
What does real downloads mean?
Also I think you should include MelOn since groups like Blackpink don't have many bots in South Korea, they're more relevant to boygroups. Is there not a way to remove bot streams with unique listeners somehow?
I just have noticed in the table "blackpink song sales" - it shows that Ice Cream had 0 physical sales, but Ice Cram was released as a single and they were selling cd's so why physical sales of it are not shown ?
It never came out on CD from what I've seen. Do you have any source for this claim?
What they mean with "real downloads" is paid downloads. The post-end of 2017 dls are not fully paid, but gotten unlimitedly for free with a subscription.
MelOn doesn't filter streams at all, a lot of old songs have bot generated plays which leads into extremely high numbers (700M+ streams for a song), that's why they don't use it.
Nevertheless, MelOn still includes millions of bot streams. You guys just want inflated CSPC results
