Streaming Masters – Nirvana

Despite only three studio album released, Nirvana is often considered as one of the most influential and cult rock band ever. Do their streaming figures agree with that? Is their blockbuster Nevermind as massive as we can imagine?

As detailed in the Fixing Log articleSpotify represents 157 million of the 272 million users of streaming platforms, while YouTube is pretty much the only video platform generating some revenue for the industry. Below is the equivalence set on the aforementioned article:

Hi MJ Dangerous, I found some tag artists below. I’m so curious about those artists. are they final 40 artists rising up by spotify or rising up by total sales? I wonder why Nirvana rising up so fast in these day and do you think they will break 100 million wall soon? I think their analog catalogs still have power. some bands like RHCP do the best in the streaming scene but they quite not much sell analog catalogs as they do in the straming scene. what do you think?

[…] store. To give some perspective on the enduring power of this phenomenal band, the Spotify streaming numbers for Nirvana are still […]

Wiki says PJ sold more than 85 million records worldwide. When they come here?
Also we’ll see Nirvana’s 2019 update review soon hopely.

Donald Miller

As I review the numbers on these various streaming masters’ articles, it seems that 100 million is the threshold number that separates a mere song from a hit song.

They definitely had the “ it” factor , an intangible magic that is now grabbing another generation of fans! That ratio is quite amazing. The great thing about music is you can have a favorite but still love and appreciate a wide and infinite mix of the greats from all areas and periods or at least respect their originality and place in history. There is no need for fans to be at war over a preference !✌️💡💜

Always happy to see this group here.

90 million EA with only 3 albums… these guys must have the best sales per album ratio in the history of music.
