It's really about time they update Billie's albums EAS, it's been over 3 years now
So how much would Thriller be certified for worldwide if it was re-certified up to date for it’s pure sales & streaming generated units? I’m confused, you have it at 66 million pure sales but album equivalent units and streams are also counted towards certifications for a albums sales.
Add Luísa Sonza's album sales, please! Her album Escândalo Íntimo already has 850M streams on Spotify!
yall know damn well shakira ain sell no damn 5M units . her album literally moved 34K first week in the US and 73K globally not to mention it only lasted 5 wks on bb200??? stop letting pre-release singles (esp some from 2 years ago/some not even hers where shes not the lead artist) define total album units. its giving fraud!
Hey! Bad bunny's new album should be counted in the 2025 section of best selling albums, rather than 2024 where its at now 🙂
Def Leppard - Hysteria - yesterday - 34 131 000 and today - 35 209 000. A Jump of almost 900 000 in one day? Is this correct or is it a mistake?
*34 311 000 yesterday
@meca76 a glitch!
The album version that we track for its streams (ID 31oeDyCOLhgeZyktfxo0pE on Spotify) has two versions of Pour Some Sugar On Me, with distinct IDs but the same playcount.
Weirdly enough (but it happens), yesterday night one of the versions had yet to get its streaming update at Spotify's end:
ID 0PdM2a6oIjqepoEfcJo0RO: 532,629,769 streams (which is the total from the previous day)
ID 4cbiHewUJ5D48xewsuld7T: 532,892,543 streams
Our scripts use a distinct to remove these duplicated songs on tracklists, and then the CSPC increase is applied (the 'new' streams are converted as new sales). Here, due to that delay on Spotify's update, the 532,629,769 streams were regarded as new by the algo, which prompted this increase. It may go back to normal in a few of hours after the new update!
Taking the amount of 'Av' and 'LD' into account (and being a bit conservative with newer albums), a excitingly lot of changes in the top would appear in the future! The top albums ever in 2035 would look something like this:
1. Thriller 136
2. Rumours 82
3. SNF 81
4. Nevermind 78
5. Hotel California 78
6. Back in Black 74
7. Bad 74
8. 21 73
9. 1989 70
10. Abbey Road 67
11. The Fame/Monster 66
12. DSOTM 65
13. AfD 65
14. Metallica 64
15. The Wall 63
16. IV 63
17. SWW 61
18. DW & H 60
19. Bodyguard 60
20. Grease 59
Bubbling just under and approaching fastly are, among others, Divide, The Eminem Show and Un Verano Sin Ti (!).
