his songs are so iconic, and whilst his sales are obviously impressive I really thought he’d be at around 140m. Maybe results are a little lower, especially for 60’s songs because of Motown multi artist releases?
That actually makes sense.
About people being disappointed in results there are actually many artists who have sold way more than I ever would have guessed, namely Rod Stewart and Celine Dion.
Neil Diamond as well has apparently sold well over 100m but his only remembered song is Sweet Caroline and I think I’ve heard of a song called Craklin’ Rosie, (couldn’t tell you how it goes though). So that leads to the question how much as EAS has Sweet Caroline generated?
I guess you totally read over the word black. All the artist you mentioned are white and peaked in a different era. Who didn’t think Celine sold alot?! She was one of the top debate artist in the 90s with blockbuster after blockbuster hits
Hi obro!
As you can expect, I'm fairly sure it isn't correct 😉
That Talking Book album is a mess for streams, we already have the issue on all-time yearly lists, some days 'Superstition' is listed, others it's missing, this corrupts entirely the calculations. I think the easiest is to switch to another Spotify album ID that is more stable!
I think The Supremes MAY have been more global since they were very big in The UK. But overall, their success wasn't really on Stevie's level.
Stevie is a genius. The biggest Motown star next to Michael Jackson. I hope he gets the biopic he deserves, someday.
