Hi Michael!

Seems is the key word here 😉 in terms of ongoing catalog sales, in a blank year, I'm quite sure that Sinatra does better than the 'big 5' female artists. Elton John & Rod Stewart are likely adding for more than most of them as well!

Wow. I never thought Frank Sinatra was still selling by the millions today. Impressive.

Wasn't 1990's Storyteller, The Complete Anthology, a 4 disc box set? If so, I'm surprised at the sales. It came out about the same time as Elton John's, To Be Continued, and as I recall Elton's box set seemed to be moving more units at the time, at least in the USA, and that box set only sold 350,000 vs Storyteller at 1,460,000. Not saying the numbers are wrong, but that just seems like a huge box set for Rod, vs almost every other one that was out at that time, with the exception of Led Zeppelin. Could this number be based off of RIAA type scoring for a 4 disc set, rather than actual units sold?

I would say DAVID BOWIE is 6th legendary solo male artist along with Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Elton John, Frank Sinatra and Rod Stewart .

Rolling Stone magazine put him position 26th. I think that's right.

Rolling Stone magazine also placed ”The Dark Side Of The Moon” as No. 43 on the ”500 Greatest Albums Of All Time” list. Although, DSOTM is No.1 on the most other internet ”all-times” album lists. So much for the Rolling Stone magazine...

Eric Clapton + Cream and Yardbyrds. Clapton has sold out Nippon Budokan about 70 times. In Japan several million selling albums. Soundscan over 30 million. Rolling Stone magazine put him second best guitarist all time. Hendrix best of course.

IDK, Storyteller was EVERYWHERE for years in the first half of the 90's...........on L.P., cassette AND C.D. The cover was unmistakable and During that time Downtown Train, the new version of I don't want to talk about it AND This Old heart of Mine were ALL over the radio. Plus, it was released hot on the heals of Out of Order and right before Vagabond Heart............I would say this was arguably Rod's Biggest successful era in the U.S.

Looks like in the Physical singles you counted Good Morning Little schoolgirl Twice. Also on Physical singles, Gasoline Alley.........did it really only sell 3,000 copies, or is that a typo for perhaps 30,000 copies? (That's his most memorable song off the album. Also curious, was Cut across shorty never released as a single from Gasoline Alley. Thanks for your tremendous work

A few corrections......Rod didn't have anything to do with single:
Love is Blue.
Oh La La from Faces album (physical/digital or streaming) Even though he did record a version in 1998 for his album WWWTNB
Also, what is the physical single "many" ? I don't have a clue what that is
