In total CSPC. If we only see physical sales, Madonna is way more and that prooved that in pre-internet era's popularity. in recent years Queens legency got reminded. And in music reviews and awards from the authority music industry Queen may be not that good.
I never compared Rihanna’s and Beyoncé’s sales with the ones of Queen lol. I just said that US influence is so big over the world you’ll find more articles about both than Queen.
Well I think this should end so let’s leave it like this. Queen aged better than Madonna. Madonna in her time was more influencial. And that both are part of the most influencial artists in history.
Dan, where did you get that conclusion? At least I’ve said that Madonna did had better sales and was more influencial. And now the one that has better sales and is more influencial is Queen.
Madonna has the opportunity of grossing 1.5 billion dollars and 15 million attendance because she is alive. Queen maybe could’ve achieve something like that, but Freddie is dead. Queen (in the not so-many-time that Madonna had) did memorable things. Queen (well everyone) in Rock in Rio has the biggest paid attendance, somewhere between 200k and 250k people. And yes both have memorable things in concerts. About the Iron Curtain, the multiple concerts Madonna had in RUSSIA and their good album sales, may have influence of Queen. Queen didn’t entered Russia, they entered the USSR, which didn’t even had a McDonald’s at the time. The Communist thing DO matters, Queen entered there as the first band in a place where everything that was from a capitalist country was looked in a bad way.
Queen worldwide album sales without US (192-47) = 155 million sales.
Without Europe (155-97) = 58 million sales.
Madonna worldwide album sales without US (202-71) = 131 million sales.
Without Europe (131-79) = 52 million sales.
Also Queen, with 97 million, is the biggest seller in Europe (go check it up).
Queen has 50 million physical sales, in this one Madonna wins; but I think she doesn’t in the digital sales, in which Queen has 60 million sales.
Well I don’t matter about chart results. Queen had 2 n.1 singles and one n.1 album in America and even though they have MUCH more superior sales to those chart results. Imagine having much more time and better chart results than Queen in Europe and even though, Queen has more sales in overall. In the US, it is almost impossible that Queen tops Madonna unless it is streaming, so there she wins.
Madonna can chose what to release, what to record, etc. Queen is a band. Everyone had to make a grupal decision, which not always made everyone happy. Also Madonna can do anything she wants until she is dead. Queen can’t release more albums, or make giant, and very tiring, tours because their unique lead singer and teammate is dead. Being a band not always is a benefit, it also has cons.
Well, did you know that Rolling Stone named Queen the first fascist band after Jazz release in 1979? Imagine if that happened with Madonna. Clearly, something is not ok. I may say Queen was the artist that received more bad critics without deserving it in the whole history of music industry, most bothering Freddie. Fortunately, Queen aged very well and press and media started to respect them. Rolling Stone is a US magazine, and being British does matter. Go and see how many artists from US and how many from the UK are in the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Also it matters for the Grammys. Adele and The Beatles, they both are UK artists that won a lot of Grammys; but there is more than that. The Grammys are from United States of America. The Brits are for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. There you will see that Queen has a lot of awards.
Also, please, if you don’t want to talk about all the awards of Bohemian Rhapsody (movie) and its sales and the music sales it consequently produced, don’t talk about Madonna’s Golden Globe and her 1.5 million seller book for kids (the fucking fact).

Madonna has a better performances on European charts because of her records sell fast and then drop. Thats benefited for chart peaks and some years' in and out. Queen is selling a little slow but they are selling the whole time. European album sales Queen win but dont know about single sales. which Madonna should be around 40 million physcal(75m WW, including about 28m in US and over 2m in Japan, rest of the world outside of US, Japan, Australasia, Europe do not have a large single markets so basically around 40 million there)
Well its a coffee table book called SEX sold over 1.5 million WW, which sold 500k in US in its first week at 50 dollars. Way far from for kids...Books for kids are another thing.

Regarded as best singer and front man of all time? Maybe but we have to consider that the BH actor acted/performed well as Freddie and Freddie had a solo album which was not successful.
