I'm not really a fan but she was in a good film with Sean Penn called 'U turn'!
She is was more talented than Britney, Madonna and other blonde pop stars who can't sing. She is an amazing dancer and a great performer.
So she is almost at 100million with sps album sales and singles. And considering she has 3 billion in movie sales worldwide. No other entertainer had the same sales. LEGEND.
Hey MJD, thanks for this! It's nice to finally get an idea of Jennifer's sales, as I've been trying to find information about them myself for a while. I have managed to collect some information though and there was one thing I noticed...
Your estimation for "On the 6" sales in Spain are 220,000 units, but I found an article from Billboard magazine (dated October 7, 2000) stating that sales for the album were at 280,000 units by then.
Also, I'm curious to know if you have estimations for each of her albums' sales in Turkey (mainly her earlier ones) as it seems she was quite successful there (if what I've read is true lol). I've found information stating that her "J.Lo" album was the best-selling international album of 2001 in Turkey (not sure how reliable that is though as I've never found any proof of it myself) and according to an old J.Lo fansite, the album was certified Gold there (and a different fansite claiming "This Is Me... Then" was certified Gold) . Again, I've never found any proof of either of those certifications so they may not exist.
According to this: http://en.mu-yap.org/features/awards/ even her underperforming "Rebirth" album was the best-selling international female album of 2005 there, so surely that gives an idea of the success of her earlier albums? Anyway I'd be grateful if you could shed some light on that for me! 🙂
Hi Fan!
On the 6 was #34 of the year 1999 in Spain which suggests 160,000-ish copies sold. It missed the Top 50 in 2000, although it was certified 2xP that year. Since there is no exact date for the certification and the album missed the YEC, I have been conservative, assuming it got there by the end of its chart run. I missed that BB figure which clarifies the situation. I checked YouTube and Let's Get Loud (which supported the album in 2000) is indeed very popular there! I'll fix that.
Turkish market is pretty messy and its size varied a lot in very little time. Still, it's clear that Jennifer Lopez was massive there. An impressive 3,68% of her streams come from this country, this competes with 0,43-1,40% for the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Queen and Adele. It's also well known that Latin acts have been huge in this region. Breakdowns of certifications for her albums include no Gold award from Turkey, but the official level was 50,000 making it nearly impossible to reach for international artists. Many "gold" awards claims appeared for many artists because the crtieria was later drastically downgraded, so labels started arguying x and y were gold / platinum. Still, giving her strength in Turkey / Middle East, I doubled her factor for her ROW sales which are calculated on the basis of US/125+UK/15+GE/50 that has been build as per relevant market sizes. Results also fit with Sony reports figures.
Hi guys!
Here is an attempt of a new template for CSPC articles. We bump it so everyone can see and provide his opinion. Main changes include:
- all-in-one page format
- breakdowns in forms rather than raw typing
- partial results on first page
- more links inside the content (to articles, Amazon and remaining CSPC articles)
- new pics creations to separate properly sections
- more telling / less technical namings
- parameters have been added to the share options that they are also more meaningful
The target is to enable you to get results very fast (from a single tweet / FB share thanks to the main pic), fast (by having a quick look to main tables) or in-depth, reading it all. All that without having to scroll too much. Please notice there is a "Top" button at the bottom-right if you want to move back to the top of the page.
We hope you will like it. Your feedbacks are welcome!
I really like the one page thing instead of multiple pages. The tables for album sales are really nice as well. I also appreciate that there is now a lot more commentary next to the figures of single sales.
I noticed that her pure album sales have slightly changed. They all went down by 10k-60k except for Love? which increased by 10k. What is the reason for that? And will it affect other artists as well?
Hi but!
Well no, no updates have to be expected for other artists! While creating the new tables I simply noticed a typo on her former numbers. Asian sales are a mixture of calculations and known data for some markets like South Korea and by mistake one of the ratio was applied to the markets with real figures. It decreased some albums and increased others (On the 6 and the remix album also got a bit higher)!
I definitely prefer the one-page format! The other way I was constantly going back to the table of contents and trying to find the page I was looking for. It was too much time navigating around. I'm curious to see how this new format will work for artists with massive discographies.
She still achieved wonders. Its not easy to consistently sell 6-8 million albums 3 times in a row. And the fact that she was once one of the highest paid actress in Hollywood, just proves how huge her popularity was back then.

According to Sony, by 25/12/1999, On The 6 sold 300k copies in Latin America.
Hey I wondered if you would be able to do a update on Jennifers sales?
the official chart company UK has said Jennifer has sold over 6.6 million charting singles (I'm assuming all the singles she's charted in the UK) she's also gone on to get several certificates in the UK since this was made
Get right - Gold
Jenny from the block - silver
On the 6 - platinum
Play - silver
Dance again the hits - Gold
JLo - double platinum
I might sound a tad dunce but I couldn't figure out what her exact sales are?
It's reported she's sold over 85 million records (this was in 2017) would it be safe to say she has hit 100 million SPS as a career total.
ain't your mama has received several more Certificates.
on the floor hasn't been updated in Certificates it's easy passed 4 million in the US I read somewhere it's close to 5.5 million SPS in the US
ain't your mama should have passed 1 million SPS in the US.
Jennifer is extremely under certified in the US
Do it well sold over 600,000 and never got a certification,
Love? Is eligible for US platinum so I read
Get right should be eligible for platinum
We now know Jennifer is around 10 million sales in the UK by what's official reported.
Trying to get a clear picture of Jennifer's sales.
Do you know how many singles/albums combined in
Europe
America
Hopefully you can shine some light if you have time thanks
I think you are underestimating ON THE FLOOR. You have it as 9.090mi, but according to IFPI report back in 2011 the song sold 8.4mi. It is impossible that after 7/8 years the song sold only 700k more. Specially because since 2012 to 2019, On The Floor sold more 400k in the UK Alone. It definitely stands in the 10 million mark by now. Here is the IFPI report http://proxy.siteo.com.s3.amazonaws.com/www.snepmusique.com/file/rin2012.pdf
