He released 4 albums already, he won't be as big as Eminem let alone bigger.

He only released 3 studio albums. No 6 collaboration is not even a proper studio albums. More like a side project. Plus, his streaming is still growing like crazy. His career is far from over. In fact it only just started.

Congratulations on everything, very interesting. I wanted to recommend a link for those who play the guitar with perfect chords https://www.testiaccordichitarra.it/gli-accordi-perfect-ed-sheeran-chitarra/

Hmm. Why is his total does not tally up with his album CSPC sales? His total should be 70.6 million instead 61 million right? Anyway MJD how well do u think Sheeran new album will do? Will it be able to at least reach 10 million again?

Looking at the performance of Bad Habits and Shivers, his new album will be a decline obviously. He is definitely past his peak, but still sells a lot and has GP interested so he will sell for a while.

This a a ridiculous comparison. Eminem is at 193.5M equivalent album sales, and still releasing new music, plus has strong catalogue sales. Ed Sheeran is at 73.8M. Of course this will jump up into the 80-90M range with the new album, but that doesn't even get him close to even halfway of Eminem's sales. Not to mention Justin Bieber (86M) is bigger than Ed Sheeran, and they are from the same generation of artists.

Although bad habits and shivers did well, i think releasing collabs project was bad call after divide's success . Album will do well but his peak was divide. If he hadn't released that project, this album could've done way better. Anyways even if america isn't his strongest market, he is such a global force.

Man i thought after divide, he will even smasher harder considering his gp appeal and selling stadiums for upcoming tour. But his greedy self , instead of keeping his mysterious image , released number 6 collabs which didn't get half of divide, ruined his momentum. Equals is underperforming but who knows in long run put up decent score. But one expected better after divide smashing on streaming.

I don't think divide should be the standard for anyone not even himself, that was a ridiculously high peak. Also his new album is doing alright, bad habits/shivers are shaping up to be yet another couple of stable hits of his and the title track remains to be seen since his stuff usually grows in streams overtime

30 million first day plays on spotify on album release date isn't good at all for someone like ed. No matter what. It is terrible. Now hopefully he is consistent

I wasn't expecting him to beat divide's debut regardless since he obviously doesn't have as much hype as back then with shape of you but true, 30m is bad for someone like him. I still think equals gonna be stable but yeah divide will be his peak (no shame in that lol)

Justin Bieber debuted before Ed Sheeran, he has at least 20 more singles and 2 or 3 more LPs, however Sheeran has much better average sales

Ok I think people need to stop talking as if the album is already a flop when it has only been released for 4 days, at the time of writing. You never know, maybe his 3rd or 4th or 5th single might be a strong one and stabilize album sales again. Yes he will for sure have big drops, but I have a strong feeling the album will have no problem hitting the 10 million CSPC mark. If people were to remember correctly, Eminem 4th studio albums also saw big drops of sales. So its not like his sales are doing any less impressive than Eminem. Plus, he is still so young, him making a strong rebound is not something unimaginable.
