can you update and make a comparison against eminem. i feel like drake's 50 billion streams should list him above eminem in overall sales
this analysis was updated only a few months ago, drake is still far from eminem EAS wise
It's already updated everyday. And Drake is very far from Eminem EAS wise
Drake: 104m EAS
Eminem: 193m EAS
Eminem sold 123,000,000 albums in his first decade... That's 23,000,000 more albums than Drakes entire career... Fam we don't even know if Drake is gonna pass that in the next five years let alone pass Eminem's current sales in the next 20, or even come close to Eminem at all before Eminem retires. Stop playing.
bro Drake almost only for a decade in the game. dont make it sound Em is 4x ahead
youtube should count more.. it's almost nothing, and a person watching youtube conects more with the artist than just listening.
someone big in Youtube means a lot
Hi all!
I'm putting in sticky this article for a pair of days as we applied the new CSPC formula to it (with the numbers left unchanged) to see the real impact of features (in his case he drops by about 19m).
Considering how much Drake is declining now with each album I don't think he will ever reach Eminem.
i believe an exception should be made for him to increase his spotify to apple music ratio...
certified lover boy is at 2.7m in the us and the *1.6 ratio sets it at less than 3.3m ww.... i believe that either his outside spotify streams are being underestimated with this formula, or that other artists’ are being inflated
*btw, i do know that that spotify overtakes apple on streams as the song gets older due to the latter platform being more fan-driven and spotify using playlists more effectively, but i still find it ridiculous for songs like no guidance that have made it to every single apple music yearend since release (800m on spotify) to have the same the same estimated outside spotify streams as your average pop hit with the same spotify streams that has yet to make an appareance on an apple music year-end, for example un día by dua lipa*
Hi Matt!
I don't know if you have noticed it, but in the 3 most recent CSPCs, we introduced an "ArtistRatio" which is now used within the Spotify extrapolation formula. I've yet to communicate on it, as I was still looking for the tech to be entirely stable (i've just ended to fix a bug on it right now), but basically it's an algorythm which understands where an artist is strong/weak, and how good/bad the market is for Spotify vs remaining platforms, and adjusts the extrapolation accordingly.
It's already in use inside the streaming tool, with the EAS accounting for this artist specific ratio. With this algorythm, Drake's Spotify extrapolation ratio for example is over 1.9.
Now I'm working mostly on Sinatra, the last truly monster miss in the CSPC ranking, but once this is over, for 2023, we will work kinda differently, publishing "beta" versions of CSPCs yet to be treated so that we complete the missing artists fast, and mass updates of plenty of artists at the same time. I expect that in 6-9 months the all-time leaderboard will be both much more complete as well as more accurate!
